Finding Inspiration: The Tiffany Delano Story

I am no stranger to adversity. My life has consisted of all those things you read and hear about in the news. A live, Lifetime Movie.  I was abused as a child by several family members (beaten and molested), went through several parents’ divorces.  Not even a teenager yet, I had to adjust to a father who was gay.  Twenty-six years ago, the world was different. Being gay was not discussed.  Later I was placed in foster care for the remainder of my childhood, where I moved around from home to home.

Striving to carve out a shining future for myself, I went to college. I focused on trying to make a better life. College years are supposed to be theDSC 1468 best years of your life, right? It was during this time that my roommate was murdered while away visiting her parents. I learned how precious friendships are and how in an instance life can change without warning.

I then met and fell in love with a good man, Trevor, and we were married three years ago. We have been blessed with a healthy baby boy. My life finally became “normal.” Then, the unthinkable happened. When Evan was three months old, my father was murdered. My brother shot my Dad in the back of the head and dragged him through the weeds.  I immediately lost two very precious family members.

Through all my tragic moments, I have remained focused on my training. My life has never been an excuse, but instead a motivator; a tool to push through tragedy to survive and succeed.  Some may describe my life’s experiences as tragic, maybe even horrific, and for a lot of people in this world who have experienced similar events, some give in to addictions: alcohol, drugs, or even worse…

I have found a way to turn these terrible events into a form of motivation and inspiration to better myself and my family. I have not accepted the role of victim but have taken on the role DSC 1270of Conqueror. I have chosen to forge my body and mind with iron and steel and wage war on the battlefield of the bodybuilding stage.
In the bodybuilding world, I have excelled.  I have earned many trophies, medals, and titles.  Featured: in the Telegram, Online Magazines, Several Radio Interviews, Rxmuscle.com, Ncmuscle.com, Muscular Development Online, and a blog spot. Currently, I hold the title of 2012 NPC Ms. NC State Champion.  At Jr. USA’s (National Level), I placed 2nd, and in November I compete for my esteemed IFBB Pro Card.

I am proud of my accomplishments. I love my life. I love my family. I love the stability of a decade of working for CKE, Restaurants as an Application Tech Support Analyst. I strive to be the best of the best, to be an inspiration to others. I love my life as an athlete.
