Top 10 Tips to Make Money and Get Published in Fitness Modeling

Top 10 Tips to Make Money and Get Published in Fitness Modeling

1. Know how much you will be paid before you shoot.
If you are doing a paid shoot, make sure you have agreed on how much you will be paid, and how you will be paid (e.g. cash, PayPal or check) before you shoot. DO NOT pay photographers to shoot you unless they are highly recognized in the field of fitness modeling andMakeMoneyILoveFemaleMuscle you love their work! Many photographers will say that they can get you published but no one can guarantee it. There are enough talented photographers out there that will shoot on trade or pay you to shoot for their own website.

2. Make sure you always get your content.
You are better off shooting TFP (trade) and getting copies and rights to all the content than getting a couple hundred dollars to shoot. A single photo set won’t make you much but once you gather enough content, you could make hundreds, if not thousands every month for years to come.

3. Submit your own photographs to be published.
One of the best ways to get published is to submit photos yourself! Many photographers are overwhelmed with photos of the different models, so it’s best to take it into your own hands. Most of the fitness magazines have e-mails for editors or for submissions that can be found on the first pages of the magazines. Most will pay $100 - $200 for a published photo, so it’s possible to get paid too!

4. You probably won’t get paid when submitted by the photographer.
Getting published is great, but you should keep in mind that even top fitness models like Jamie Eason rarely get paid for work submitted by a photographer, even for a cover. So if you are shooting content for submission, be sure to shoot extra photos for your own use.

5. Have the photographers sign a release for you to keep.
Have all photographers you shoot with for trade sign a release form for you to keep giving you the rights to sell and use the images anyway you'd like. You can download a PDF of that form below. This form is for the photographer to sign and for you to keep.

6. Don’t leave the shoot without a DVD of all your photos.
Get all your photos before you leave the shoot. It only takes a few minutes to burn a DVD so don’t let them give you any excuses. I’ve heard countless stories of models waiting months to get even a few photos let alone all the photos. Bring a blank DVD or a memory stick and have them load it up!

7. Launch your own website.
Starting your own website to sell photos, videos or other services is a great way for fitness models and female bodybuilders to make extra cash. You will need to be very proactive and tenacious, but you could make thousands each month!

You can check out http://www.hardbodywebdesign.com for pay sites and cool portfolio websites.  They get the work done quickly and they have great on-going support. Be careful with companies that say they must charge you any monthly or server fees! It only costs $4 a month to host most websites, so it should be included for free! Unless they are doing all the updates for you there is no reason to pay them a monthly fee.

8. Sell your content on I Love Female Muscle.

Selling your content on www.ilovefemalemuscle.com is a quick and easy solution to making money with your photos and videos. You won't need to put out any cash up front or spend time marketing and promoting your own website. They will do all that work for you! You can get all the info on submitting content at www.ilovefemalemuscle.com/submitcontent

9. Work a few hours a week on webcams.
If you are comfortable with it, you can earn up to $100 an hour on webcams. It is definitely not for everyone, but if you comfortable with it you can earn a lot of extra cash. I Love Female Muscle can feature you on a CRAZY HUGE cam network with tons of traffic aBehindTheScenesnd almost no free chat! You can email them for more info at: [email protected] subject=More Info Please!

10. Be careful!
There are lots of creepy "guys with cameras" out there so if it doesn't feel right or the offer sounds too good to be true don't do it! If they drop names try to contact those people on Facebook or twitter and see if they are legit. If they don't have a facebook or model mayhem page that looks well used then you are better off passing on the shoot.
