IFBB NY Pro Figure Pre-Judging Report!

CherylThe 2010 IFBB NY Pro Figure pre-judging is in the books and some new faces it made it exciting! Over 30 competitors took the stage in the line-up that plenty of quantity but not much depth. The door was open for a few rookie pros to make name for themselves.

From what I saw and seemingly from the judge’s movements, Cheryl Brown dominated the show. Cheryl was not at her best, but 90% of that physique is still pretty damn good. Her condition was on, presentation was beautiful, but she lacked the crispness I’d expect. Perhaps a rest leading up to the Olympia is all she needs to get back to 100%. Regardless, Cheryl hasn’t even reached her one year anniversary as a pro and she’s about to win in NY (well, New Jersey to be exact).

Second through fifth are not quite as clear. In the one-piece round Terri Turner was sent back with Cheryl so we can assume she was second there; but in the two-piece round she looked to be anywhere from second to fourth. It’s not very clear going into the finals, but I’m going with Terri in second. Gen Strobo looked like she was third after the one-piece round, but the two-piece told a different story and Gen got a little too lean coming into the show. Her lean frame today didn’t have the balanced muscle and fullness the judges like.

JosieThe other two ladies making up the top-5 have only been IFBB Professionals for exactly three weeks: Josie Zamora won the overall at the NPC Jr. Nationals and Dana Fallacara, class A winner of that very same show a. Josie seemed to keep getting better and better as she posed and after missing the first callout in the one-piece round, she still posed her way into the top 5. In the two-piece she could have been as high as second. Dana made tremendous improvements from her pro-card winning physique and looked amazing on stage. Conditioning and stage presence were perfect.

DanaAnother competitor of note was Gina Trochiano, who made her pro-debut after winning her class at last year’s Team Universe. She was well-conditioned and has a very striking figure (for lack of a better word). Tivisay Briceno also brought a great overall look, although she needs to add some size to hang with the top 5. Lastly, I was very impressed with Candice John who I expect to keep moving up the ranks.

Tomorrow at 9am (eastern) Rx Muscle will be back with the live play-by-play of the NPC women’s bodybuilding, figure, fitness, and bikini pre-judging. Then at 7pm the finals kick off for the Pro Figure and NPC Team Universe. Don’t miss our interviews with all the winners and wrap-up of the entire show (INCLUDING STAGE VIDEO!).
