What gives someone the right to consider themselves a successful fitness model or personality in the industry? Is it the amount of covers one can land because of their physique?  Could it be how many sponsors they are able to grab to help support them? Or is it the amount of money one can make between different modeling/ fitness gigs?

Everyone will tell you something different, but if there is one thing that is hard to disagree with, it’s the ability to promote and market yourself to others.  Social media has begun to play a huge role in self-marketing as an athlete, competitor, fitness model or personality in the Industry. These days, you don't need a modeling agency to help promote you, or a company to take you on as a sponsored athlete in order for you to be seen in the industry.

Someone who once could have been just an average fit person, now has the ability to transform themselves into a “Social Media Fitness Star!”  If you put in the time, the effort, and truly have a passion for fitness, you can change yourself from just a face with a body, to a bona fide personality – someone able to inspire and motivate others on their own fitness journey!

Savannah Rose Neveux, a.k.a. “Muffin Topless”, age 24, and hailing from Los Angeles, California, is proof that if you put in the time, effort, hard work in the gym AND the kitchen, and use social media as a tool to self-promote, you can turn your average health/fit lifestyle into a network that reaches out to endless amounts of people who want to take the time out to follow your journey.

Q: When did you get started on your fitness career/journey? What made you want become more than just the average person living a healthy and fit lifestyle?

A: I began my health and fitness journey my senior year of college (2011). Like a lot of college students, I partied a LOT and my diet consisted primarily of Taco Bell, Ramen and Easy Mac. My beverages of choice were Dr. Pepper or beer. I was always sick and constantly in and out of the hospital with different illnesses. I NEVER exercised. Finally o1779135 10152253581952049 1018852161 nne day after an exceptionally bad hangover (and a 25-pound weight gain), I decided I had had enough. I wanted to feel good in my own skin and I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. That was the catalyst for my transformation from the wild party girl, to a health and fitness lover.

Q: Being that you have a loyal social media following, what is some advice that you would offer someone wanting to increase their popularity in the Fitness industry? What tip can you give someone to help them build their following as well?

A: Be real, be yourself and find your own voice.

Q: Do you consider this as your part/full time job or a hobby?

A: For me, blogging started out as a hobby. I love helping people find their inner strength and get healthy and fit. For years I published free workouts, meal plans, tips and more. Finally, after a great deal of pushing from friends and family, I began to sell my workout programs on my website. My home-workout Bikini Body Program and weight-lifting Fit Body Program turned out to both be a huge success and I am so proud of all the ladies and gents who have used them to change their lives for the better! I hesitate to even call this a job because I love it so much. It doesn't even feel like work!

Q: How does it feel knowing that somewhere, you are actually helping someone by motivating them to achieve their personal goals, just by posting your personal life and achievements on social media?

A: It's such a wonderful and humbling experience! When I am told by my followers how much I inspire and motivate them, I realize just how much sharing my life and my personal ups and downs means to them. I have literally received emails that are so heartfelt and personal, they have brought tears to my eyes. These women and men have motivated and inspired me just as much, if not more than I have inspired them.

Q: Is there anyone who has motivated or inspired you to become the person you are today?

A: I believe that each and every person I've met in my life has influenced me in some way or another. Even the people who treated me poorly deserve my gratitude because without them, I wouldn't be who I am today and I wouldn't be where I am today. However, I owe the biggest thank you to my family for all of the love and support they have given me.

Q: How does your family feel about your lifestyle? What would you say to someone whose family does not support their lifestyle?

A: My family is very supportive of my lifestyle. My dad (Michael Neveux) is extremely well known in the fitness industry for his amazing photography. He has been shooting the top bodybuilders and fitness models in the industry for decades. My brother is very into bodybuilding and recently became a personal trainer. My mom is a gluten-free/healthy food blogger. They all understand the different aspects of living a healthy, fit lifestyle and I'm so grateful to have their support.

I would tell individuals whose family does not support them to stay positive and be patient. Change can be very hard for people, even if it IS positive. Give them time to come arou278932 10150318803612049 3116337 ond. If you find that time simply isn't enough, consider approaching them differently. If you calmly and rationally explain your new healthy lifestyle to them, you may be able to get them to understand. If you can get them to see just how happy and wonderful your lifestyle makes you feel, they will hopefully be happy for you, too!

Q: Of all the social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), what do you think is the most effective to use in order to market yourself in this industry?

A: I think it depends on your strengths and weaknesses. If you excel at inspiring/beautiful imagery, Instagram is probably the best platform. If you're great with your words (and pithy) Twitter is the better choice. I would say, find your voice and try different things until you find your favorite platform!

Q: What is your diet like? Do you eat clean all year round?

A: I eat clean the majority of the time, but if I don't have a photoshoot or project coming up, I am not as strict with my portions. I practice moderation, not deprivation. If I want pizza, I will have pizza. Usually though I will make my own at home as opposed to ordering something like Domino's. Personally, I like the control I have over the ingredients. I still get my pizza fix, without the guilt. I do have treat meals during the week as well, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Q: What is your favorite cheat meal? How do you control yourself from going overboard when you decide to treat yourself?

A: I love Mexican food and sushi and will usually go out with some friends and have a glass of wine or two as well. I make sure to train beforehand, drink plenty of water and eat clean throughout the day… that way I don't go to the restaurant ravenous.

Q: Do you take any supplements? What do you think is one of the most important supplements someone should take who is training constantly?

A: I don't take a lot of supplements. I usually take a multi-vitamin, fish oil, CLA, probiotics and biotin. I also use a whey protein for my post-workout. I'm not a big fan of pre-workouts… so if I need a boost, I usually just have a cup of coffee or some green tea before training.

If someone is constantly training, something that aids in recovery would be a good choice, like BCAAs or a whey protein.
