Date of birth: Sept 1

Career: Personal Trainer/ College Instructor

If you could change into a superhero for a day who would you be and why?
Wonder Woman, I’d have the speed to finish my daily task in the blink of an eye. I would have healing power to fly around the world heal the sick and disabled , and still be home in time to pick the kids up from school, make dinner, make a little love, and all while looking fit and fabulous!

What made you begin dedicating your lifestyle to this sport?
After serving in the U.S. Air force as a military police officer staying fit was a part of my career. Although I am no longer in the military maintaining my physique and being a positive example for my family is important to me. Not to mention every time I step on that stage I love to see my family and friends light up!

What approach do you take to dieting...carb cycle..keto?
My trainer and I try to keep my diet along the lines of things I normally eat, especially since I have particular dietary needs because of my health conditions.  I eat pretty healthy and stay within 2-5 lbs of my competition weight all year round. I am very lean so my goal is to maintain fullness.

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about competing?
I must say everyone seems to think that you starve, NOT TRUE, and that you will get overly muscular. At the end of the day when I hit the stage knowing I did my best and walk away with a body I love, who cares what anyone else thinks!

What is your most embarrassing childhood memory?
When I attempted to play basketball! I was a clumsy mess, tripping over my feet, and throwing all air balls, it was terrible lol!To this day I am uncoordinated, but I never quit and gave it my all and ended up making a basket the very last game.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned about YOURSELF during your contest prep?
The biggest lesson I have learned is definitely never underestiiPhone pics Jan2013 012mate myself. At times I can be very critical of myself, but I learned what's meant for me is for ME, no one can take that away! Just keep a positive attitude.

Who do you look up and admire and why?
My mother and sister and all the good hard working mothers around the world.

Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank God first and foremost there are many days that he doesn't have to wake me up, but he does. My husband, he’s my biggest fan and motivates me to never give up, as well as our beautiful kids, my big sister and family. They come and support me when they don't have to. Definitely my trainer Jill Vadala, TEAM V all the way. Thank you for all that you do!
