The BSN SYNTHA-6 Taste-Test Challenge. . . A Company With Balls!

How good does BSN's Sythna-6 ready-to-drink (RTD) protein supplement taste? Well, if you work for syntha_6_rtd_450_whiteBSN you'd say it tastes better than any other RTD on the market. What else would you say?  You get paid to think that.  Well, if you're a savvy marketing director with balls of steel and supreme confidence in your product, then you'd say: "In a blind taste test against three of the other leading RTD's you'd pick Syntha-6."  Then you'd put what you just said to the test (literally) at the largest and most highly attended fitness conglomeration in the world, the Arnold Fitness Expo.  And that's just what BSN did.

 

Right alongside their monstrous booth at the Arnold, BSN set aside a spot where groups of four random people selected from the ample crowd would sit and taste four blind samples of the industry's leading RTDs.  After each tasting, the participants rated each sample on taste, texture and aftertaste. Then they marked down which sample they thought tasted the best. This took place over two days and Rx Muscle was there to film it all.  The exclusive results will be available here at RX Muscle on Wednesday, March 10 when we release the video.  You'll see what RTD's were being tasted and how the testers reacted.  The results have been counted and I will tell you that one sample was indeed chosen far more than all the others.  Was it Syntha-6?  You'll find out soon enough.

 

But before we tell you, I think it's important that we take a look at the downside of such a taste test. Being confident about your product is one thing.  Assuming your product will win is nothing more than an assumption no matter how confident you might be. But, what if all those #1 votes are for the competition; then what?  It's all there on film. No one can deny the outcome.  What if the winner is not Syntha-6?   Well, according to the principles at BSN, they will use that loss not as a defeat, but as an opportunity to make their product even better.  BSN believes in making the consumer happy.  If you don't like their product, the solution is not more advertising or hiring another top athlete to say it's the best. Their solution is to use the information garnered during the taste-test to make their RTD  more to your liking.  The bottom line is if you don't like it you won't buy it. This is unprecedented in sport supplement history - a company that wants you to like their product, not a company telling you you'll like it.
