Spotlight On NPC Womens Physique Competitor : Andrea Gritz

Spotlight On NPC Womens Physique Competitor : Andrea Gritz

Category you compete in: WoAndrea 2men's Physique
Hometown: born and raised, Ramsey, NJ,    Current: King of Prussia, PA.
Career: personal trainer

Favorite contest prep recipe: cinnamon on everything! broiled tilapia with basil, garic and cinnamon

What part of your physique are you currently working on: back, glutes

Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you:  cinnamon and coffee, my grandma was a diabetic....before the days of Stevia, she used cinnamon..wow..delicious  and training wise: go with what works for your body! Do not try to look like someone else.  Do the best with what you were given! If one is unable to do an exercise due to injury, etc...one must find a different one that works.  For example: I cannot hack squat for my quads due to a torn ACL.  However, I can modify it using a medicine ball to suit my physical needs.

If you could compete in one other event, what would it be?  Fitness!!!   I love the routines, combing aesthetics and strength and crowd participation!  I design my physique routines around fitness and try to intertwine posing and fitness.

Why NPC? I have competed in INBF, OCB, NGA and NPC shows this year. I plan to pursue NPC due to the professionalism, intensity, organization and potential the organization holds.  I have also been blessed to have competed at NPC shows, which have been run by people who have been polite, helpful, enthusiastic and supportive of me.

What  do you like best about competing? The discipline and energy.  I love the prep, as crazy as it sounds.  The energy I feel on stage is uncomparable!

What are your goals for the future?   NPC Nationals!!!

Competition history?  NGA Mr. natural Philly women's physique may 4, 2013 (only competitor)
NPC Mid Atlantic Natural women's physique overall, May 11, 2013
NGA NJ/NY Championship June 15, 2013
INBF Fit Body Hercules Show June 29, 2013, 2nd place
NPC New Jersey Championship physique overall winner Aug 17, 2013
OCB Battle for the Belt, physique overall winner,
Bodybuilding overall winner : *pro card

Next competition:  NPC Nationals, November 16, 2013

Hobbies:  working out, shopping, traveling ( I love airports for some reason), spending time with  my sister and parents, watching comedy and sports movies, and girlie movies, reading nutrition healthy tips and experimenting with foods, going out to dinner and clubs in cities dancing, playing football

Biggest lesson you have leaandreasiderned over the years competing?   I have only competed for 3 months, and I have learned a lot in that time! Compete for yourself; do what makes you happy!!!!  If you have a goal, go for it.  Only you can know if you truly want to compete and how bad you want to go through the steps. If you want it, make it happen!  I know I cannot say one week out, "Oops I forgot food, I’ll just grab a bar instead; I go to the grocery store, and I will microwave tilapia to keep myself on track....and I know why  I do it, despite what others may think of the awful smell at the grocery cafe!"

Favorite contest prep supplement:  Hydroxycut Elite Hardcore.  I met Branch Warren at BNC when I first thought about competing.  I asked him how far out he thought I was (i had not begun official prep); he said 5 weeks and recommended Hydroxycut.......and here I am 6 shows later!
