What is your favorite contest prep recipe? Unfortunately I am not much of a cook, so I don't have any creative recipes to share. I do however love my chicken with hot sauce.

What part of your physique are you currently working on? My biggest focus is my legs. I am trying to lean them out as much as possible. Nonetheless when training for a competition I don't usually focus on only certain parts of my physique, I make sure to work every single part of it!

Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you. Always make sure you're prepared. In other words, have your meals ready a few days ahead of time, make sure to bring everything you might need with you anywhere you go, just in case.  Plan your weight training and cardio days ahead of time.

If you could compete in one other event which would it be and why?I would train to compete in the fitness category. I think the routines the girls put together are all very impressive. The fact that they can come up with such incredible routines and train so hard is such an inspiration. That would take such dedication and time! They all perform so well on stage and look absolutely stunning doing it! They are so talented and their creativity makes every show very entertaining.

What do you like best about competing? There are so many reasons why I like competing. One of them is being on stage the day of the competition! I love walking on stage showing them what I've worked so hard for! I also like competing because I am the type of person who loves challenges, and competing means you have a challenge to face every day!

van2What are your goals for the future? My biggest goal is to one day become a Bikini Pro! It would be a dream come true. I would also like to get a modeling contract or sponsorship from a high profile supplement company. Until these  things come true, I won't stop putting my 100% in at the gym!

Competition History: My first show was in Calgary, Alberta on April 9th, 2011.  I ended up placing first in Overall Best Body! The smile on my face didn't come off for an entire week afterwards. All the hard work had payed off! It was such an amazing experience and quite the journey to get there.

Next competition: My next competition is in Edmonton, Alberta on June 25th. It is the Alberta Bodybuilding Association Provincial's competition. This one will be a little bigger with even more talented girls, I am getting very excited, but of course a little nervous. I hope to place in the top five so I can move on and compete for Canadians next!

Hobbies: Oh boy, I have too many! As long as I am on my feet doing something I am happy. In the summer, I love camping.  It is my favorite part of the year! I love the sunshine, which means on a sunny day you'll find me at the beach enjoying some type of water sport or sun bathing lol! Quadding is another reason why I love spending my weekends out camping. In winter, I love snowboarding, but I have found a new love for sledding up in the mountains.  It's gorgeous up there and such a crazy ride through the snow drifts! When I feel like relaxing and taking it a little easy, I enjoy drawing or painting (weird side hobby of mine).

What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? The biggest lesson I learned is to never give up. Even if days are harder than others, or one day results don't turn out being what you want them to be, it doesn't give you a reason to stop trying! Nothing in life is easy; you have to work for what you want. If competing was that easy then everyone would do it. Theirs times throughout my training for my first competition where I wanted to just give up, but I had such a great support group that didn't allow that to happen. Therefore I kept going and ended up winning 1st place! This is when I realized that giving up is never going to be an option in my life. I'll fight through everything!

vf8What is your favorite contest prep supplement? I am very busy, I work long hours, so some days after my 10hr shifts I am exhausted, but still need to make it to the gym.  In this case I use Gaspari Nutrition Super Pump Max and it gives me the energy to go lift weights, and not long after taking it, I am at the gym ready to go! Works great! For protein shakes I really like the Isoflex product, very good and tasty!
