Meet National Level MP Competitor Chris Villa

We are here with Chris Villa…Congrats on chris fitness305a great showing!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division? A lot came in to play when deciding on my decision to compete. One, I love training and the fitness life. Two, I’m very competitive and like to see what key focal point that I lack and need to improve. Three, my good friend IFBB PRO Ryan Hughes made it more convincing for me after a long talk about the fitness industry and direction the new Men’s Physique Division is taking guys like us towards marketing and promotions.

Can you tell us a little about the Competition you just competed in? Well I just competed in the North Americans.  It was a very good experence in Cleveland especially rooming with new IFBB Bobby Ashhurst, my dude Xavisus Gayden and Mikey Mchall. I got to know and meet more new Physique competitors as for the competition itself, I think they did an amazing job with first callouts in the A and B classes and C class was kinda of confusing and all over the place. Just looking forward to feedback from judges soon and see why there was such a big mix of physiques.

How did you feel after pre-judging? I felt quiet disappointed to be honest I felt there were guys like Xavisus and I that came is top shape and should have at least be in first callout but again I don’t want to jump to conclusions especially since the judges were from all over, so they all had there thoughts on the direction of what physique they thought was the best compared to what we are use to seeing at other show callouts. Just can’t wait to get feedback.

How did you feel about the final results of the show? Again I felt confused and baffled at the outcome, this is something to get use to in the first year of the new division for me especially since its my first year competing and it was my 4th show I competed in. It all will come into place soon hopefully. I’m not going to complain but I may argue a lot with other competitors and get some solid feed back from judges my coach and good friends. This is all still a learning process and I feel like I get better and better as I prepare for the next show. All I’m going to do is keep training hard and bringing the best I possibly can.

What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division and what it may be able to do for your career? I think this new division is amazing for a lot of guys and can bring great opportunity for our future as this division just keeps growing and growing as shows go on. This division is def going to bring a better market for fitness and people trying to obtain the ideal body type.
