If you could change into a superhero for a day who would you be and why?

If I could be a super hero for a day, it would have to be Wonder Woman!!! Simply because when I was a little girl I would watch Linda Carter as Wonder Woman and thought that she was so beautiful and strong. I loved her costume with the red boots. And those gold wrist ropes that she used to capture the villain were so cool!!

What made you begin dedicating your lifestyle to this sport?

I chose to dedicate my lifestyle to this sport for several reasons. I started weight training at 14 years old, so it felt very natural for me to compete in a sport that honors weight training. I love the adrenaline rush I feel when I hit that stage, there is nothing like being able to showcase all of your hard work and commitment. And being an example for my daughters, showing them that at 37 years old I continue to be fit, healthy and strong. That is something that never has to change just because our age increases.

What approach do you take to dieting...carb cycle..keto?

The approach I take to my competition diet is basic. Because I maintain my weight at 3-5 lbs above my contest weight year round, it really is just about eating extra clean, watching my sodium intake, not missing any meals and drinking plenty of water.

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about competing?

The biggest misconception that I’ve come across about competing is that many individuals believe in order to compete, they would have to spend 3 to 4 hours a day in the gy2013NoColo BikNv 35-00049m. Not true!!

What is your most embarrassing childhood memory?

I have a few embarrassing childhood memories. But the one that comes to mind actually happened when I was a sophomore in high school. It was swimming day in gym class and the girls and guys had class together. I was late to class and the students were already sitting on the bleachers by the pools. I came running in, slipped on the water by the pool and landed hard on my behind. All the students gasped, but when they realized I was okay, they all laughed. The worst part about it was that it happened in front of a cute, senior guy that I had a major crush on.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned about YOURSELF during your contest prep?

The biggest lesson that I have learned about myself is that I have to allow myself to enjoy every step of the journey. Don’t stress and have fun!!

Who do you look up and admire and why?

I can’t say that there is one person in particular. I admire those who have overcome tragedy, difficult circumstances and always remain strong. I look up to individuals who remain humble and selfless even in the midst of great success. I guess you could say that I admire everyday people.

Favorite Motivational Quote:

Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside of you that is greater than any obstacle.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank my family for all of their patience and positive feedback through this journey. And of course IFBB WPP, Sara Hurrle and Team Inside Out. What an amazing team of women we have. I feel so honored to be part of a group that has so much integrity and support for one another.
