If you could change into a superhero for a day who would you be and why?
If I could be a superhero I would definitely want to be Sheena, the Queen of the Jungle! She was the first female superhero and paved the way for other female superheroes to be introduced.

What made you begin dedicating your lifestyle to this sport?
In 2011 I decided that I wanted to try my hand at competing after getting a job at cafe within a local gym.  At this point in my life I had never really worked out much other than the occasional cardio session.  My boss at the gym was my trainer.  In 3 short months she helped me transform my body, lose 30 pounds, and gain significant muscle that I had never had before.  I competed in the INBF under the figure division.  I knew after competing in my first show that this lifestyle was for me!  Well... In October 2011 I found out that I was expecting, not only one baby, but twins.  I knew this was going to make competing after this pregnancy very difficult and I was going to have to work extremely hard. After having my girls in June 2012 I set a goal to compete again by the end of 2012 but this time in the NPC in the bikini division. I achieved that goal, although I was not exactly where I wanted to be, I did it anyways, for me and no one else.  It felt great to shed 43 pounds and get back into shape.  I am of course continuing to better myself and my body and will be seeing the stage in a few short months for the 2013 season! 2013 is my year, I know it!

What approach do you take to dieting...carb cycle..keto?
Honestly my approach is to maintain a clean diet while keeping the macronutrients where they need to be.  I trust my body and adjust based on how things are coming along, but I usually follow low fat, moderate carbs, and moderate-high protein diet.

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about competing?
The biggest misconception about female competitors is that we starve ourselves to look so thin.  As you know this is so not the case! It drives me nuts when people tell me I need to eat more… I eat 5-6 times a day already.

What is your most embarrassing childhood memory?
My most embarrassing childhood memory would have to be getting stung on the lip by a bee at the county fair and completely freaking out like I was dying.  I was drinking a lemonade and I guess the bee was in my cup and when I went to take a sip I got stung.  I remember it hurting, but it was definitely no emergency like I made it seem.  Everyone was looking at me and my parents.  I was only about 8 or so at the time.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned about YOURSELF during your contest prep?
I have to trust my body, not just what is written on a piece of paper.  My body knows what it needs and it knows how to let me know!

Who do you loJenette Headshotok up and admire and why?
I admire my mother.  She has been through so much in her life, including 3 strokes and she still has a desire to be healthy and fit.  Although sometimes she physically can’t make it to the gym she knows that eating right and staying in shape is important to living a healthy life. She has done a lot of exciting things with her life also!  She is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, she is a Nashville recording artist, and has lived in various places in the country and world just to name a few.  She’s also an amazing supporter of whatever it is that I want to do in my life!

Competition history:
2012 NPC Elite Physique Championships (2nd place-tall class)
2012 NPC Natural Northern USA (13th place- bikini class D)

Next competition:
2013 NPC Mid Atlantic Cup

Favorite Motivational Quote:
“The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing… “

Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my family and friends.  Without the support of all of them I would never have the encouragement and drive to keep going!
