What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? Most people would probably say the diet and while I do agree the dieting can be tough if I‘m being honest, I think the worst part for me is feelings of self doubt. I have to spend my entire prep reminding myself that the only one I’m really competing against is me. I have to convince myself that (although I want that pro card, lol) it doesn’t matter how I place, as long as I know I worked my ass off to get there and come in better than I did at my last show.

Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I do both cardio and weights five days a week. My lifting program is designed as a body part split, changes frequently and I always love it!

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? My first thought when asked this was OMGoodness, NONE. But then I remembered ….asparagus *gag* … and how often I have to eat it. *double gag* All of a sudden the answer became very clear. TASTE. As a matter of fact, can I PLEASE lose that one? Pretty please? ;)

If you could change one things about this sport what would it be? The cost. I’d be doing SO many more competitions if it wasn’t so expensive.
If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? That’s a tough one! Maybe a cookbook or nutrition labels from some popular foods so we can look back at how awful the food in this generation was. I’d love to hope that it won’t always be this bad and in the years to come the food industry will change a lot.

What is your favorite vacation spot? I’ve had several favorite vacation spots over the years but currently, I’d have to say Daytona Beach. It’s absolutely beautiful and my coaches are there. This way, I can get my ass kicked hard and then lay on the beach to happily lick my wounds afterwards. Does life get any better than that? :)

What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? Get a good coach and then just shut up and do what you’re told. Honestly, I had a few coaches before my current ones and until I found the right “fit” for me and what my body needed to be it’s best, I really didn’t see much of a change. On top of that, it’s really hard for us to be objective when it comes to our own bodies.

What is a day-in-the-life of Roni like? It’s really not very exciting I’m afraid. It starts with cardio, then food, a workout, a hot shower, more food and then training clients…and more fooDSC 0640 doned. Depending on my training schedule I may or may not do more cardio after work and then I’m always in bed fairly early. Rest and recovery are important and I know my early morning cardio is waiting for me again in the morning. That’s really about it as far as a typical day goes. Workouts, food, work, sleep, repeat.

Favorite Motivational Quote: Ack…do I have to pick just one? I have SO many. How about two?

I wouldn’t be able to claim any of the improvements and success I’ve had in the last year without their knowledge, support, guidance and belief in me. <3 To all my bombshell sistas who inspire me daily with their dedication, focus and passion for the sport. Last but not least, my bestie Michelle who somehow or other manages to keep me sane …which is no small feat. Hehe. No matter how many times I screw up, she’s always there believing in me, supporting me and pushing me to not give up. <3
