Next competition: Not sure….?

In your opinion, how important is motivation and confidence when aiming to accomplish a goal? Motivation is big part, but also support, persistence, and drive are needed to meet your goals, especially to compete!

In your eyes, what combination of hard work and natural ability is needed to reach the top? Equal combination, I’ve always been athletic, but never pushed myself to achieve the best physique I could until I decided to compete! I truly surprised myself.

What are some motivational strategies that have or currently work for you? #1 motivator, disproving all your doubters, even if that includes yourself! #2 motivator, seeing the changes in your physique week after week!

Give me some examples from your life where confidence has helped you to achieve? Every job interview I’ve ever had, even Grad school interviews I nailed using confidence, even if I didn’t really know what I was talking about.. haha… translates into competing! I’ve seen girls with better physiques get beat by a girl who awed the crowd.

What do you find the mostIMG 2072ABRG challenging about competing? Competing is such a selfish sport! The most challenging thing is to show my support team that their lives and goals are just as important as mine. We get so caught up in our diets, when our next gym session is, we forget to stop and look around to see there’s way more to life than a bodybuilding show. I’m a mother, girlfriend, sister, daughter and friend FIRST before competitor, and I forget that sometimes.

What are your top 5 key strategies for success? 1) Time management 2) utilizing my time the most effectively way possible 3) Ignore the nay-sayers and negativity! 4) Make time for things that make you happy, 5) Get back up when life gets you down!

What is your favorite protein powder? Why do you like it? I have a lot of protein powders that I like! I mostly like SCITEC’S Casein powder, it keeps me fuller longer, easier to cook with and tastes great! Try this recipe (my favorite clean eat)
¾ cup liquid egg whites, 1 scoop vanilla casein, blend.
Pour mixture in egg pan, cook like a pancake, golden on each side. Spread natural peanut butter on, spray butter and sprinkle one packet Truvia over the top…Ahhhmazing.

I also like to add a scoop of banana casein in my oatmeal!

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “Strength does nphoto(6)ot come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to?  Most importantly, my little girl Tatum and my man Lind Walter. It’s so important to share a fit lifestyle with your partner, someone who understands clean eating and supports what some would think is crazy! I’m so lucky to have that in Lind, he even cooks my meals :) A couple that trains together, stays together!  My little girl Tatum is my motivation to be successful, so I can give her the life she deserves. I’ve worked so hard to put myself through school (I have a degree in Biology), work a crazy schedule all the while achieving my goals, in hopes that I can inspire other mom’s, that they can do the same.
