What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep?

I think the worst part of prep is the strict dieting and lack of energy. The final days of dieting make it really tough to complete my entire workout.

Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I train 5-6 days a week based on how my body feels. I like to listen to my body and give it additional rest when I feel I need it.

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? Taste – I am so used to eating plain tilapia and vegetables that I do not crave much junk anymore. I would have to say I get less use out of taste it seems than any of my other senses.

image001If you could change one things about this sport what would it be? I wish that there was more stage time for bikini competitors with different mandatory poses. It seems we work so hard for contest day, but the stage time goes by so fast. Also an overall award should go to “Best Glutes” or “Best Legs”. Kinda like bodybuilding has a “Most Muscular” award.

If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? I would put a lot of pictures of all the important and special people in my life. I have a great family and some really good friends. It would show a lot of memories of all the fun and good times we had together.

What is your favorite vacation spot? I really like to go to Cancun, Mexico. My husband and I love the wild and crazy times we have there each time we go. I also like to go to Las Vegas and go to the different pool parties on the strip.

What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? My advice would be to be prepared for some extreme sacrifices. Total commitment to diet/training/recovery is critical to achieving your goals. Without 100% dedication and commitment, you will never know what your potential could be.You also need to be patient. More than crash dieting, getting in shape through strength training is about the long payoff. Reach for the stars, they are always within reach!! Finally, if you can believe it, you can achieve it.

What is a day-in-the-life of Cassandra like? I like to start my day with a walk with my 2 white Shepherds. This helps me to get a little cardio going in the morning. I usually hit the gym after that and work on improving various bodyparts.Spending time in the gym has several benefits as I learned and I’m truly thankful for that.  I’ve learned a lot about me as a person, about my body and what I’m capable of when I keep myself focused and strong! I then prepare all my meals for the day each morning. I try to eat every 2-3 hrs and I try to monitor my body changes closely.

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to? First I would like to thank my husband Matt, he has always helped to motivate me to challenge myself and to push myself in all areas of my life. I would also like to thank my Mom, Hanny Reingold, I really admire her for her hard work and dedication with everything she does. My sister Cristhine, she is always there for me and I am inspired by her commitment to her family and her many achievements in life. I would like to thank my coach Ken Tali from Max Muscle for allowing me to join “Team Barbie”. Since I met with Ken in July 2011 and joined the team, he has become instrumental in pushing me to make all of my improvements to my physique. Ken is a great friend and contest prep coach and I cannot thank him enough for all he has taught me about my abilities and myself. I could not have done it without his help. Also all the Team Barbie’s (special thanks to Kathryn and her prep team) you girls are the “BEST” and I can’t wait to do my next show. Extra special thanks to Kris Rico and Margaret Chin for all the extra help. You girls were my big inspiration and motivation to improve my glutes. Thanks to Martin Mester, Anna, Jovy and Mike for believing in me and giving me support through the difficult times. Your encouragement and support means more to me than you will ever know. Thank to you all for being such great friends to me.
