How does your family respond to your competing? Although my parents don’t seem to fully understand the bodybuilding industry, I am very fortunate in that I have the full support of my family and friends in everything I choose to do. My parents and siblings were there to see me win the Overall at my first Figure competition and I am very grateful for their love and continued support as I work towards competing for my IFBB pro card.

What kind of goals have you set for yourself, short-term and long-term? Though I have many goals set for myself, some of my primary goals include earning my IFBB Pro Card and continuing to focus on branding myself within the fitness industry. Since my first competition I have had several people come to me for competition prep, particularly Men’s Physique competitors and Bikini and Figure competitors, so some of my goals include expanding my clientele and helping them excel as competitors!   I have too many goals to list, and many projects I am working on...but I will share those at a later time ;).

What's currently on your iPod? The music I listen to really covers a wide range of genres, but my current favorites include Tiesto, David Guetta, and Morgan Page PodCasts (some of my essentials for the long cardio sessions in competition prep), Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Deadmau5 to name a few.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of the bodybuilding world? Outside of bodybuilding I love to spend as much quality time as I can with my close friends and family. I’m not someone who goes out to clubs or parties much anymore, but rather enjoys spending time outdoors hiking or canoeing, traveling to exotic locations, cooking for my loved ones, or relaxing at home for a quiet night of painting, watching movies, or reading, lol.IMG 7698

Do you have a favorite exercise? I would have to say squats are my favorite exercise by far! I LOVE the feeling of all the blood rushing through my legs and powerfulness you feel (and even the nausea) of completing a heavy set of squats.

Competition history:

2011 NPC Muscle Contest in Culver City, CA (my very first Figure Competition!) – 1st Place Figure Class B and Figure Overall Winner

2011 NPC Greater Gulf States in New Orleans, LA- 1st Place Figure Class B

Next competition:

2011 NPC Nationals in Miami, FL.

Favorite Fitness Tip: The majority of your results will come from maintaining a clean, balanced diet. Without healthy eating habits you will never see the results you desire. Too often I see people that think they can spend hours in the gym training and doing cardio, expecting to see results without changing their eating habits. One of my favorite quotes to sum up the #1 question people ask me in regards to getting “ripped or having 6-pack abs” is, “Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.”

IMG 7869Who would you like to thank? I would like to thank Mike Yurkovic for introducing me to Dave Palumbo and Gail Auerbach for my feature with RxMuscle! In addition, I would like to thank my Competition Coach Kim Oddo for helping me since my first competition and for his continued support and guidance as we prep for NPC Nationals in November! Lastly, I would like to thank my trainer Eric DiLauro for pushing me to the limits in the gym, and all my family, friends, and loved ones that provide me with the support and strength to really maintain my focus and drive, even when I’m dieted down and exhausted :).
