Date of birth: July 28

Hometown: Born and Raised in Fort Worth Texas. Live in Calumet City, Il (outside of Chicago)

Career: By day Family Nurse Practitioner and at night Critical Care RN

What is your favorite contest prep recipe? My favorite contest prep recipe was shared with me from a friend F.A. Harper. Its his Air Harp B-Fast Blast. In a bowl place 6 egg whites, ½ cup of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 5 splenda packets. Mix batter up in a bowl (stainless steel) and refrigerate overnight. Preheat a non-stick pan with a small amount of Pam. Mix batter up and pour into skillet. Brown on both sides like you would when cooking a pancake. Remove from skillet and use a pizza cutter to cut into 4 pieces. There you have it your Air Harp B-Fast Blast.

What part of your physique are you currently working on? Although I’m considered a small girl I have always thought of myself as being big. I have even given myself my own nickname “Big Mamma”….. Anyway my quads tend to be bigger and carry more muscle, therefore I usually have to constantly work on them to keep them lean. Over the years I have been able to bring up my upper body/shoulders to balance my figure out (symmetry).

Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you. Keep it interesting. I have learned through the years that dieting does not have to be boring. There are many things that you can do to keep food exciting and tasting delicious, during contest prep.

If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why? If I could compete in another category it would be fitness. I absolutely love the energy of the routines. When I was younger (key word “YOUNGER”) I could and would do back hand springs, somersaults, splits and all kinds of things. If I was to try that now they would indeed be calling 911.

Why NPC: The NPC has always been in the forefront in the fitness community.

What do you like best about competing? The different friendships you form are one of the perks about competing. You realize that there are other individuals that are just as crazy as you are for vigorously dieting and training….lol

What are your goals for the future? I was fortunate and blessed to obtain one of my goals, which was to earn my pro-card (2011 Jr. Nationals). My goal is to continue to be a positive influence to my family, friends and patients. I would like to one day grace the Olympia stage. My ultimate goal is to be that mother that all the kids are in “awe” when they see you….“that’s your momma?”….lol.

2011 NPC Junior Nationals 1st place class B and 3rd overall (earned pro card)

Next competition: I’m thinking about making my pro debut at the Houston Pro Show in October.

Hobbies: Relaxing, playing with my dog who thinks he is a poodle (he is a pitbull), riding my motorcycle, cooking, hanging out with friends and family, and of course working out.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? Always be happy with the package you bring to the stage. You have to remember it’s a subjective sport. Just have fun!!!

What is your favorite contest prep supplement? I really like Amnio Energy it taste soooo good.
