252180_1955909130832_1035833333_32319492_7164533_nCategory you compete in: Bikini

Date of birth: October 28, 1986

Hometown: Tullahoma, TN

Career: Sales Representative, Computer hardware and software

Competition history: I started competing the first year bikini started in 2009 in a couple local shows in Tennessee.  I originally wanted to work my way up to compete in Figure, but eventually decided that Bikini was where I belonged. This year was my first time to compete in a national show and I placed first in my class at Jr. USAs and first in my class at Jr. Nationals!

Next competition: USAs in Vegas! After getting so close to becoming pro this year, I decided that it's time to just keep going and stay in pursuit of my goal of becoming pro this year!

What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep?

I LOVE food. Specifically, I love desserts, so the first couple weeks of my diet are always the hardest, but once I get in a routine it becomes easier. Laughing

Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule?

I do my cardio first thing in the morning before my first meal 6 days a week (lucky for me, only one session a day instead of two). As far as lifting goes, I usually train every body part separately so I can really focus on building muscle. I've played sports my whole life so I've always had muscular legs, but the rest of my body definitely needed work when I started training for shows. I train 5 days a week on weights.

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why?

Well it would be much easier to diet if I lost the sense of taste! BUT, I think I would prefer to lose the sense of smell... don't really need that as long as it doesn't affect taste when I lose it.

If you could change one thing about this sport what would it be?

The bad rep it gets from people that aren't involved in it thinking it is unhealthy and unnatural.

If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why?

I would put my iPod Touch in there! Music is a very important part of my workouts to stay motivated so I would want to share this. : )

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere tropical, the Bahamas!

259998_211816808855198_134961009874112_494171_7736101_nWhat advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding?

If you stay focused on your goals and consistently work toward them, you will accomplish anything. This sport is just as mentally demanding as it is physically demanding so staying focused is key. You will experience every emotion possible leading up to a competition and it really helps you to grow as a person, you just have to be ready for it. The reward of seeing the progress you make is well worth the effort in the end and there is nothing like it!

What is a day-in-the-life of Whitney Wiser like?

Wake up at 5:30am for cardio! I like to switch it up so some days I will do treadmill, stairmaster, track workouts or just jogging outside.

Off to work by 8:00am to sell computers and talk to customers all day on the phone at my desk while eating my meals I've packed every 2-3 hours.

Sometimes during my lunch break I will go grocery shopping or go tan so I don't have to do it at night.

My work day ends at 5:00pm and I'm on the way to the gym to lift weights.

I usually get home around 7:30pm to cook all my meals for the next day, pack my cooler for work, and get my workout bag and everything ready to get up and do it all again the next day!

If there is anyway to be asleep by 10pm then it's a good day! The more sleep the better.

Favorite Motivational Quote:

"What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger."

"I'm too blessed to be depressed."

252864_965746220055_38411900_43051780_201088_nIn closing, who would you like to give a shout out to?

I just want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be able to pursue my goals in this sport and in life. I also want to give a shout out to my parents for all the support over the years and raising me to have the determination and strength to do anything.
