In April 1996, professional bodybuilder Sally McNeil was given a sentence of 19 years-life for the shotgun slaying of her husband (and fellow bodybuilder) Ray McNeil.
It was no secret that Sally and Ray had a volatile relationship and had fought violently on many occasions, mostly triggered by Ray's many affairs with other women. However, on Valentine's Day 1995 the fight between the pair (reportedly about the cost of the chicken Ray was cooking) would be their last.

Having just received a highly respectable fourth placing at this year's Tampa Pro show I thought I would grab a hold of top competitor Nicole Ball and ask her to contribute her thoughts to our ongoing discussion regarding adjusting from on season to off season appearance for female bodybuilders.
In this year's New York Pro contest, one competitor who many feel was overlooked was Italy's Claudia Partenza. At 44 years of age, Claudia presented a dense, ripped physique that seemed destined to take up residence in at least the top ten in terms of placing; however, this was not to be and for some crazy reason, Claudia placed 15th!

In her hit song "If I could turn back time", legendary music icon Cher considered the possibilities of reversing the clock in order to change certain things in her life. In Cher's case this was a nice concept but not something she could realistically achieve. However, for figure competitor and fitness model, Belinda Benn, the concept of turning back time is not just a nice idea; it is part of her daily reality!
At the age of 45 she has just competed in her first figure competition (Miss Gym 2009 Panama) where she placed 2nd overall. She has also been featured in several advertising campaigns and has been interviewed by many fitness orientated magazines. Hard to believe that just a few years ago Belinda was a pretty straight laced executive, successful yes, but hardly a fitness role model.
