CBS Sports Will Air Worlds Strongest Man Series Beginning Oct 13.

CBS Sports Network and IMG have reached a multi-year agreement to showcase the World’s Strongest Man competition on CBS Sports Network, as part of the Network’s CBS Sports Spectacular series. CBS Sports Network will air ten 30-minute episodes from the 2013 competition, culminating with a one-hour finale crowning the 2013 World’s Strongest Man.

Programming begins on Wednesday, Oct. 16 (7:00 PM, ET) and airs weekly through the finale on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25 (9:00 PM, ET). Brent Stover calls the action from Sanya, China, along with Aaron Taylor and three-time World’s Strongest Man Bill Kazmaier.

“World’s Strongest Man is a compelling competition and an established brand that we’re excited to add to our CBS Sports Spectacular lineup,” said Dan Weinberg, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports Network. “The sport appeals to a wide audience and we are thrilled to partner with IMG to showcase this premier competition.”

“CBS is the original home of World’s Strongest Man and IMG is delighted to be bringing the competition back to the CBS Sports family. We are quite certain it will continue to grow and prosper on CBS Sports Network,” said Barry Frank, Executive Vice President, Media Sports Programming, IMG.

CBS Sports Network also will air classic World’s Strongest Man competitions beginning with an encore presentation of the 1983 event on Wednesday, June 17 (7:00 PM, ET). The classic competitions date back to the inaugural World’s Strongest Man in 1977 and air weekly on Wednesday nights through the start of the 2013 competition.

CBS Sports Network is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 158. For more information, and to access the CBS Sports Network channel finder, go to www.cbssportsnetwork
