Breaking News: Benedikt Magnussen Injured during prep for Arnold Strongman

Breaking News:

Sean Katterle, promoter for Hardcore Powerlifting is reporting on his Ironman Blog that Benedikt Magnussen has torn a bicep during his prep for the Arnold Strongman Classic. Benedikt was to compete at the Arnold and then return to Dallas, Tx to compete in the Hardcore Powerlifting event at the Ronnie Coleman where last year he set the All-time heaviest dedlift ever pulled in competition at 1,015lbs.

The Arnold Sports Festival has reported the following:

“Benedikt Magnusson of Iceland is injured and will not compete. Magnusson finished fifth at the Arnold Strongman Classic in 2006 and 2008 before sitting out 2010 due to injury. World record holder in the Hummer Tire Deadlift at 1,102.3 pounds (500 kg). Magnusson was replaced in the 2012 Arnold Strongman Classic by Travis Ortmayer on Feb. 16, 2012.”

His injury apparently is sever enough that he will require surgery to reattach his tear. We at RxMuscle wish Benedikt a speedy recovery.
