Jnr IFBB Mr Australia Mike Dorn interview - Climbing the amateur ranks!

Mike Dorn interviewIf you're a fan of Rx Muscle you may have seen or heard of Mike Dorn before (Click here to listen to his interview on Aussie Muscle Radio), he's now established himself as Australia's #1 junior bodybuilder, and he has his sights set on bigger things moving forward. Read on below for an in-depth view on Mike Dorn and what's to come!

Rx: Today I'm talking with Mike Dorn, the winner of what is said to be the toughest junior line up at the IFBB Nationals of all time, which was a contest held only weeks ago. Mike how does it feel to be a Mr Australia?

Mike D: It feels amazing Xavier. With a lot of talk and hype going into the IFBB junior line up this year I knew it wasn't going to be easy. With a lot of very good junior bodybuilders due to show up and all wanting to win the title, I knew I had to work my ass off to get in the absolute best shape possible. I did everything I could and followed the guidance of my coach Mike Lee and accomplished my goal of winning junior Mr australia.

Mike D: No way! Knowing how competitive it was going to be there was no way I was missing this one. I was sick for roughly 3 weeks of this prep and I was barely able to even get out of bed or keep food down, I still didn't miss a training session though... Most of my meals at that point where having to be protein shakes because food wouldn't stay down, but I pushed through. It was just a speedbump, so I kept my focus on my goal at all times.

Mike D: I honestly don't think so, if so only a little bit. I was back to 100% from 8 weeks out so that was plenty of time to get everything back on track and where it should be.

Rx: Now you've achieved your goal of winning a junior Mr Australia, where do you go from here?

Mike D: I have already set my sites on winning an open title and have gotten straight into a constructive offseason. I haven't decided 100% yet but I'm looking to compete again next year in at the nationals in October in whichever weight class I fall into, Which would most likely be under 90's.

Mike D: Thank you Xavier I appreciate it! I'll continue to keep working on my physique to bring something better each time, and keep that momentum going! Most importantly enjoying myself in the process. Definitely want to thank my coach Michael Lee, not only an amazingly knowledgeable coach, but one of the nicest people you will ever meet, very supportive coach and pays great attention to detail and every aspect that needs to be covered. Mike lee really is the master coach! Also all friends and family that were understanding and supportive, although I'm not too bad when I diet... Well I try not to be. It's my choice to diet and put myself through it, so I try my best to keep happy, even in those hardest last few weeks. Key word there is "try" I'm still probably an asshole without knowing lol.
