Stephanie Willes Walks Into the Pro Ranks: It's Okay To Make Mistakes!

Since my last post I have had quite an exphoto 2 (2)citing time. I decide to venture out into the corporate world after 10 years of not sitting behind a desk all day. To make a long story short, I have no idea how I ever did that before. I am not a quitter by any means but after 5 torturous days in a cubicle I realized I needed to be honest with myself. How could my life be going so grand at this moment and now I dread waking up in the morning to come sit at a desk doing the same menial tasks over and over again? Usually I would say quitting is the easy route, so never quit. But in this situation I can say I took the high road. Quitting a job can be a hard a thing to do when you have to tell your boss, especially after only 5 days!! I didn’t just want to leave and never come back, that would have been the easy road. So I sat down with my boss and I was honest with her about how I felt, admitted I made a mistake and apologized for the inconvenience. It was like a million tons had been lifted off my chest at that moment and we had a nice conversation about my competing as an IFBB Pro. It was cute when she asked, Well what do you do on stage, do you lift weights up there? I left that day with a sense of empowerment that I was in control of my life and mistakes are going to happen. The key is to recognize these mistakes, admit that it is one and learn and grow from that. So my ambition now is to continue my journey as a college student, but instead of only 9 credit hours per semester I’m hitting it full time. This is something that I have wanted to do and being that during my spring semester I was able to train and compete at Jr. Nationals while going to school and bringing up a family and still get a 4.0. Well I think that says something about what I need to be doing right now. So for now I can focus on my kids and have a ton of fun with them over the summer and keep on training for my first pro show.

That’s right!!! You heard me correctly! I have filled out my contracts for two Pro shows! I’ll be going to the Tampa Physique Pro on August 9-10 and the following weekend going to Dallas for the Europa. I think the reality of actually being a pro will hit when I’m surrounded by these men and women that I have aspired to be for the last 5 years. Now, I am one of them and I am so invigorated to make progress and keep improving so that one day I can stand on the Olympia stage, the Holy Grail of Bodybuilding!!!! So for the next 6 to 7 weeks I am in full force, nose to the grind stone. Every workout, every set, every rep counts here!!!  I’m keeping the diet on point and waking up with positive energy every day. I love this life,  I want this, I want it bad, so I will use my drive, my dedication and I will achieve my dreams and goals. Always believe in yourself. You can do anything!!!

After the Dallas Europa I don’t plan on stopping there. I want to do the Titan Pro in Culver City in October. What a great start to my first Pro season!!!! Locked and loaded, Here I come!!!!

My training split I am keeping the same, but adding in some extra back work on my day off to help with my V taper. This is such a weakness for me so I want to hit it a bit more. I also am doing more hamstring and glute exercises on my second leg day of the week to better my tie in. I also had a great photo shoot sessphoto 1 (2)ion with my dear friend who just started Harmony Pictures. We drove up to Red Rock Canyon at 4:15 am on Saturday to get the best lighting possible and to beat the Vegas heat. It got to 118 degrees that day and was 90 degrees at 5:30 am so I’m glad we headed up early. These pictures are turning out so good and the ones you see here are just two she had edited for me. I can’t wait to meet up with her and go thru her top 155 photos that she likes, the best out of 400 something shots we took. I was tired!! LOL!!!

I’m getting really excited about the entire summer with so many great things happening. I look forward to going to the USA’s and meeting some of you in person. Hopefully I will have a booth to work and I’ll have some photo shoots lined up for this great weekend. Then of course there is the Olympia, which I love working at the Expo!! So much excitement in Las Vegas!!

I’m going to purchase a video recorder and upload some videos soon and share some of my workouts with you. I should have some pictures of me working out next week too!!

Keep up all your hard work, keep up with a positive attitude and remember your mind will quit before your body so be strong and believe in yourself.

All the best in the gym and kitchen!

Xoxo
