Candice Keene's Fitspiration: Muscle Up That Willpower

Candice Keene's Fitspiration: Muscle Up That Willpower

Ahh..Willpower..The one thing we always refer to that we wish we had mCandice Keene 15ore of.  Willpower is a necessary factor to set you up for success.  It separates the haves and the have-nots in life.  The willpower we possess as individuals is actually one of the most powerful tools, along with our mind.  It plays a role behind everything we do if you think about it.  From getting up in the morning to going to bed at night, it is our willpower within us that executes our daily actions.

You ever hear of the phrase, “It takes money to make money?”  Well, it’s like that..It takes willpower to create and strengthen more willpower.  It is similar to a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it becomes. To make it stronger, practice setting small tasks or goals, then build to larger ones.  The success you encounter with each small task and the amount of fulfillment you feel, adds fuel to your willpower fire. After you have conquered these small tasks, you are ready to step it up and move on to bigger and more challenging tasks/goals.

Now, it is up to us to make our willpower as strong as we want it to be.  As competitors or those living a fitness lifestyle, we always hear, “Man, I praise you for your willpower! I couldn’t do that!” Or something along those lines..  I mean really, it all comes from our minds! We all know that.  It is part of having that mental strength within us to stick to certain plans or follow through with our desired goals.  Any road to success is never going to be a smooth sailing one.  Where’s the challenge in that if it were??  Boo..no fun!!  Challenges are what make us who we are.  They help us grow, and allow us to test our limits so that we can push past those limits.  Challenges help shape our character, round out any rough edges, give us lessons we need for our future successes, but most importantly they allow us to realize that we can manage through anything that comes our way.

Willpower is the ability to resist short-term temptations in order to meet long-term goals.  In other words, short-term pain for long-term gain!  Hey, if you truly desire something and are passionate about your journey ahead and succeeding in your goal, willpower should come automatically.  If it comes with difficulty, practice positive self-talk with yourself..It works!  Remember, willpower is like a muscle.  The more you exercise it, the more of it you will get and thestronger it will be.  Like with anything, practice makes perfect.  Push yourself past your own limits to reveal your true potential, and visualize your finish.  Willpower and mental strength go hand in hand.  WheCandice Keene 23n both are strong, you will be unstoppable!  Remember, we are in control of our mind; therefore we can control what we do. "You have a very powerful mind that can make anything happen as long as you keep yourself centered. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.” ~Randy Pausch
