Meet MP Competitor Jeremiah Taylor

IMAG0654MP Competitor Jeremiah Taylor.  Congrats on a great showing!  What made you decide to compete in the Men’s Physique Division?

After watching a friend compete in the Branch Warren Classic last July, my son asked me if I was too scared to compete.

Can you tell us a little about the show in which you most recently competed?

I competed in the Dyess Muscle Classic in November on an Air Force Base in Abilene, TX.  It was a smaller show, however, I found my inner showman during that competition.  I got to compete against Tom Blas again.

How did you feel after pre-judging?

I felt confident that I brought everything I could to that stage. I had a great crowd reaction, and it made me feel I had a real chance of winning at the night show.

How did you feel about the final results of the show?

I was disappointed that I did not place in the open class, but I did place second (after Tom).  I feel the judges made the right decision, due to the fact that I had a tendency to pull in my right elbow during front and back posing, which made me shrink, instead of widen out.  I did get my highest marks on my critique notes, which I will use to help me in the upcoming season.

What are your thoughts on the Men's Physique Division and what it may be able to do for your career?

I believe it is an incredible division that lends opportunities to men like me, who were not previously athletes.  I am hopeful it will help me down a career path of nutrition, fitness, and open business ventures for a clothing line, nutrition products, and my own show.  I think it will enable me to mentor others who want to do physique competition as well.
