The Ab Series: Weighted Rope Crunch

 

Bring out your best ABS in 2014.  Here in the final exercise of The Ab Series we take you through the weighted crunch using a pulley assembly. 

Lie face up on mat so that your head is near the low pulley on a cable apparatus, with the rope attached.  Grasp the rope so that the ends sit at your collarbones and the rope forms a V around your neck.  Bring your head and shoulders slightly off the mat to engage the abs.  Exhale and contract your abdominals to curl up slightly, emphasizing pulling your abdominals towards the floor.  Be sure to to keep your head and shoulders off the mat during the entire exercise.
