EDITORPHOTOBryan Hildebrand, also known as Uncle Attila in the Rx Muscle Community - is a key contributor to the Chemical Section as well as a moderator on the forums. The Chemical Section is a natural fit for Bryan as he has been a practitioner of “Better Living Through Pharmacology” for the better part of 25 years. His
understanding of anabolic compounds and their reactions to the body coupled with a background in medicine make him a leading figure at Rx Muscle for making educated decisions on anabolic use and testosterone

replacement therapy.

Bryan’s medical background began with a stint as an intermediate EMT in Washington State followed by  several years as a Surgical Technician in a level III trauma center.  He moved to Pheonix, Arizona in 2001 to pursuit a career in clinical research. Working as a Data Analyst and as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Arizona Burn Center at Maricopa Medical Center, Bryan had a hand in helping develop several new products and protocols to better serve the burn and trauma community. His research on one particular product caught the attention of the pharmaceutical company conducting the clinical trial.  Bryan was asked by the pharmaceutical company to be the keynote speaker at the company’s annual conference, which evolved into a tour of more than 30 conferences around the world where he discussed the findings of their clinical research.  Shortly after, Bryan moved to Virginia where he worked as a consultant for the same pharmaceutical company and oversaw a hybrid product with the companies research and development department.

Bryan participated in a multitude of sports as a young man, but excelled in the shotput and discus in high school. This is where he found the gym where his passion soon turned to powerlifting. Large framed and with natural strength, Bryan placed at the top in the state powerlifting championships. This transitioned to working part time for a health club where he met his mentor, Jeff Magruder. Jeff, a former World Powerlifting Champion and world record holder in the bench press, accepted Bryan on his team where he continued to excel. When a friend asked him to compete in a strongman contest in Bend, Oregon, he gave it a shot. After placing a surprising third behind the likes of some of the world’s best strongmen, Bryan saw a future in strongman. He then competed in many strongman events and placed well before a career ending neck fracture halted his rise in strongman.

After taking 2 years to rehabilitate from the fracture and resulting nerve injury, Bryan made his way back into the gym.  While living near Buffalo, NY, he began a successful personal training company - Body By Bryan - where he discovered a deep satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals.

Currently Bryan is back in the gym and considering a comeback at a New Mexico strongman event. “My objective with the strength forums is to mirror the success of Muscle Central and gleen as much education I can from Dave Palumbo. My overall goal for Rx Muscle’s Strength Central to be THE place people around the world come to find advice, nutrition, training and contest results from strength events around the world. We hope to partner with the people that promote and sponsor these events and give the athletes a place to call home.”
