You may be wondering what a woman is doing on this site...well, let's just say I understand the world of
bodybuilding and fitness, the rigors of contest prep and the multiple skin concerns which often plague competitors as they shift their meal plans, supplementation and training.
Weight lifting became a way of life for me during college, nudging me into exercise science studies and materializing into a Bachelor's degree from Occidental College in that discipline. Immediately after graduation I began working as a personal trainer, but I craved even more intellectual challenges so I went off to medical school.
I obtained my medical degree then completed a three year family medicine residency with a special emphasis on cosmetic dermatology. This cosmetic dermatology focus led to a two year position as the director of cosmetic research at Alhambra Medical and Cosmetic Center, during which time I published a number of clinical papers and investigated a plethora of topical skincare products.
When I began competing in the bikini division of the NPC in 2009, I became aware of the multiple skin issues which competitors suffer from, ranging from acne to the drawn and sickly appearance which can result from being dehydrated and carb depleted. As a highly experienced cosmetic filler and Botox injector, I can correct issues in the face while restoring a natural, more youthful appearance.
