Spotlight On NPC Bikini Competitor: Candice Smith

Spotlight On NPC Bikini Competitor: Candice Smith

Category you compete in: Bikini candice1Class A
Date of birth: 1-12-81
Hometown: Taylorsville, NC
Career: Dance Instructor/ Graphic Designer

What is your favorite contest prep recipe? During contest prep I try to eat very clean and stick to mostly fish. Either tilapia or salmon and try different seasoning and spices to mix it up. I love spicy foods so the hotter the better.

What part of your physique are you currently working on? I am looking to add more muscle to my  legs and shoulders. Also looking to build a more toned booty for next season. :)

Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you. You can’t pay attention to what the scales say it’s all about how your close fit and the way you feel. Eat like an animal train like a machine.

If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why? I think I would stick with bikini with my size and figure. I would like to go pro in the bikini division .

Why NPC: The NPC is the most supportive of its athletes and everyone truly wants to see you succeed. I’ve never met so many wonderful and caring people in all my life.

What do you like best about competing? I like the challenge of it.  Meeting new people who care about their health and fitness and are very supportive. I like the lifestyle and the way I feel. I like being very fit and healthy and doing the best I can at something while staying very strict, focused and disciplined.

What are your goals for the future? My goals are to continue competing. Hopefully get a sponsorship and be a fitness role model. To be able to help others achieve their goals and dreams. I am also wanting to get my personal training certification and start doing boot camp challenges etc. The sky is the limit.
Competition history: Placed 3rd in my first NPC show the Mid-Atlantic Classic October 20th in Charlotte NC.

Next competition: I am training to do the Arnold Classic 2013

Hobbies: I enjoy dancing- tap, jazz, ballet and zumba, cooking, kickboxing, working out. I like to think of myself as a ninja, anything that keeps me active.
What is the biggest lescandice 25son you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? The biggest lesson I have learned is that it’s not easy, it takes time, and dedication and it’s a lifestyle. You have to live, eat, and breathe it. It does not happen overnight you have to constantly work at it every day.

What is your favorite contest prep supplement? I love Optimum Nutrition’s Rocky Road Whey, My 1MR pre-workout gives me the energy to rock and roll and my Roxylean Fat burner keeps me going on low carb days.

Favorite Quote: "Talent is god-given so be humble, fame is man-given so be grateful."
"You can’t be afraid of change because you can’t get where you need to be by remaining who you are."
