Hello everyone and welcome 2014! I hope you all had a safe, enjoyable holiday season and are now ready to tackle a new year and new goals!

They say that January can be one of the most depressing months of the year, but YOU certainly have the power to choose to see the glass as half empty or half full - I choose half full! Despite going over budget on holiday gifts (who doesn't??), attempting to see all my loved ones (thank goodness for Skype!), 2013 went out with a bang in all the best ways.

Well it’s that time of year again – holiday parties, visits with friends and family, and lots of snow! It is also the time of year that the IFBB/NPC takes a bit of a show break, and begins gearing up for the 2014 season…very exciting! The week before Christmas will mark the release of the 2014 Arnold Classic pro invite list --  hundreds of pros will apply to have a place on the prestigious Arnold Sports Festival stage, so as you can guess, it is a very selective and competitive process

My life forever changed the day that I saw my first Boston Terrier.  It was 2002 and Max was in college in Lakeland, Florida, and he and I were going grocery shopping.  After parking and on our way into the local Publix, we were chatting about nothing in particular, when both of us stopped dead in our tracks.  We both just stared.  A grinning and panting, engaging yet peculiar, friendly looking dog was leaning out the window of one of the parked cars.

Hi Everyone!

Well we are only a month away from Christmas and I cannot believe the 2013 IFBB Pro Figure Season has come to a close! What a great year - 8 fantastic shows, friendships made, new opportunities and I am one fortunate competitor :) I just finished up my season with a 4th place finish at the Brent Jones Kentucky Muscle Pro Figure in Louisville, Kentucky and had an absolutely fabulous weekend.

Fitness The Mary Stockbridge Way: Why I Love the IFBB

After earning my pro card at the 2013 NPC Junior USA Championships, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Fitness Pro Michelle Blank.  She introduced herself, but of course, I already knew who she was.  For me, it was the beginning of a whirlwind adventure that has not stopped to this day.  That whole evening was such a blur, but one thing that stood out to me was when she told me, “Welcome to the club.”

Well October is officially here which means the 2013 Olympia Weekend has come and gone, and what an amazing experience it was! This year was my third on the Olympia stage and it was by far the best I have felt with regards to my physique and overall presentation. However,  the Sunday evening before the Olympia I started to feel ill and woke up Monday with an insane fever and a throat that felt like it had glass shards running down it. I slept for 12 hours Monday (7am till 7pm), had nothing to eat, and only drank a litre of water (which is unacceptable while water loading!) and then dragged myself to work for 3 hours on Tuesday as I had to travel Wednesday and had a ton to do.

If you compete or have ever competed in fitness, sports, weight training, or any physical activity, you have probably had your share of setbacks.  The same goes for me.  Most recently, I reinjured my left ankle.

Hi Everyone!

It is official – the IFBB Olympia weekend is only 3 weeks away and preparation is in full swing! I am very excited to be competing in my third consecutive Figure Olympia (the only Canadian to have ever done so in IFBB history – WHOHOO!!!) and with that am extremely motivated to present my best physique to date, and come home with amazing memories and some great photographs! Fellow Olympian Tamee Marie (WPD) has crafted me an absolutely beautiful suit which I cannot wait to wear on the Olympia stage – I can only describe it as stunning and feel so blessed to work with such a talented suit designer, and wonderful person.
