What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep?
The worst part of contest prep for me doesn’t come until the last 3-4 weeks before show time…And it’s the diet. I love eating clean and seeing all my definition come through, but carb cutting near the end of prep definitely leaves me pretty moody and low on energy!! Just ask my family LOL!

Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule?
I train 6 days a week. I do an hour of cardio every morning … not just your everyday running or starimaster. No way, my coach – Shannon Dey – has some of the best cardio routines I’ve seen! Think squats, lunges, running backwards and sprints on the treadmill! Oh and don’t forget ‘alien jumps’ and ‘frog jumps’. Yep..People look at me like I’m a little crazy, but I couldn’t care less! I love my cardio! It’s all about shaping my bikini girl legs and BUM!

My weight training schedule usually follows this pattern: Monday – Lower body, Tuesday – Back/ Biceps/ Calves, Wednesday – Chest/ Shoulders/ Triceps, Thursday – Plyos/ Calves, Friday – Glutes, Saturday – Plyos. You can imagine how much my vertical has improved, I’m ALWAYS jumping!!

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why?
If I had to loose one of my senses it would be my sense of hearing. Why? Because while I’m training the only voice I need to hear is my own! So many people try to fill your head with negativity that it can over power your own voice or thoughts, which ultimately is the only one that matters! I train and do shows for ME, I want to become an IFBB Bikini Pro because I personally love the training lifestyle and the health benefits I have gotten from it.

If you could change one things about this sport what would it be?
If I could change 1 thing about this sport it would be a mandatory rule that everyone get a participation trophy. That might sound silly..But - The journey to the stage is one of the hardest journeys that many of us go through. I believe that everyone is a winner if they can endure the journey to the stage and everyone should be recognized for their hard work. Judging isn’t always fair and so much emphasis can be put on the placing that sometimes we forget the hours of work we put into our training, both in the kitchen and in the gym to get to the stage.

If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why?
If I had a time capsule I would put in my first pair of running shoes I got for training for my first show. I put so many hours of training into them, I basically lived in those shoes for 7 months. Why would I put stinky old running shoes in there? Because they are the biggest reminder of my journey to my first show. My life transformed completely during those 7 months, I lost more then 40 pounds, overcame a battle of depression, quit smoking/ drinking, became a personal trainer, and of course made it to the stage! I am a completely new person with an entire new outlook on life and what I want to accomplish in this lifetime.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
My favorite vacation spot is anywhere376429 333825153380403 1980600073 n EUROPE! I LOVE Europe. If I had to narrow it down I’d say Barcelona would be my go to vacation spot.

What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding?
Know that the journey is not easy, but it is one of the most satisfying and biggest accomplishments you can ever achieve. Celebrate the small successes. Don’t focus on how far you have to go but how far you have come. Surround yourself with only positivity and people who will support you on your journey. When you get to the show, ENJOY your ENTIRE day! No matter what happens, what place you come, be happy, know that there is always another show you can prep and make gains for. Be proud of your achievement of getting on the stage in a tiny bikini, REMEMBER not everyone has the courage to do it!!

What is a day-in-the-life of Robin Prest like?
7am: Wake up! Throw some Rhianna on and get myself ready for AM cardio. Have a quick coffee head to the gym for an hour to KILL cardio. Come home EAT, shower, head out to Fit Girl Training’s gym (located conveniently in my garage) to kick my clients booties for the day – don’t forget taking breaks to eat! Go to class and then head back to the gym for my weight training session. Eat again! Do some work with my online clients for the night and finish up any assignments I have. Spend some quality time with my boyfriend and family, prep my meals for the next day, EAT my LAST meal of the day and head to bed! You could say I’m a bit of an energizer bunny ;)

Favorite Motivational Quote:
I’ve learned that life is tough, but I’m tougher!!!!
In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to?
I would like to give a HUGE shout out to my amazing boyfriend, mom, dad and sister. These four people are my support system, I could not have achieved the things that I have without them. They make me laugh when I’m down, come to the gym with me when I need a boost, help me make my meals when I’m just to exhausted, support me with anything I need and always make my show day one the best days no matter what the outcome is!
