COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dexter Jackson will try to win his record-tying fourth Arnold Classic title when he leads a field of 13 competitors at the 25th Anniversary Arnold Classic at the 2013 Arnold Sports Festival.
Jackson, who will compete in Columbus for the 14th time, won the Arnold Classic in 2005, 2006 and 2008. A win in 2013 would tie Jackson with the popular Flex Wheeler, who won the Arnold Classic in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2000. Cedric McMillan, making his Arnold Classic debut; Ben Pakulski, fourth in 2012; Toney Freeman, fifth in the 2012 Arnold Classic Europe; Johnnie Jackson and Ronny Rockel are expected to challenge.

Starting in December you will see new groundbreaking articles, a lab testing forum, and much more. With the expansion comes new leadership, and that leadership will come in the form of John Conner (AKA HeavyIron).
If you haven’t heard or seen the handle, HeavyIron, then you probably are new to this bodybuilding thing... Or you’re natural! John started posting on the message boards looking to communicate with like minded individuals, and over the past few years he has become one of the most widely respected chemical enhancement experts. I also have the good fortune of working with John at IronMagLabs, so I know that when he sets his mind to something, there is no stopping him.
When I spoke to John about the position, he immediately had ideas on how to make the site better and what he’d like to bring to the revamped site. Along with writing articles himself, he is forming a team of individuals to bring the members the newest and most cutting edge information. John’s plans extend to the forum, and not only the content and discussion there, but also the moderation. He favors a looser style of moderation and more edgy discussion, and we plan to leave that completely up to John’s discretion.
With John at the helm, it is our goal to not only have Rx Muscle the premier site for contest coverage, but also the premier site for Chemical Enhancement.
Big bold news for the website that touts itself as "The Truth in Bodybuilding". Rx Muscle mainstay Aaron Singerman has been promoted to the position of Editor-in-Chief of the rxmuscle.com website. Singerman, who started out co-hosting a radio show called Off-Topic back in 2009, climbed and clawed his way through the Rx Muscle ranks.
2012 Australian Armwrestling Championships confirmed to take place on Sunday 2nd December with weigh-ins and registration starting at 9:00am sharp. Venue will be St John's Main Hall in Mitcham, Melbourne, with 5 men's right arm classes, 4 men's left arm classes, and 1 women's right arm class on offer.
The Bodybuilding world lost a legend on November 13th, 2012. Sergio Oliva, also known as “The Myth”, passed away at Saint Frances Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The official cause of death was a heart attack although Sergio had been in ill health over the last several years and had been on dialysis for kidney failure in the months leading up to his death.
Before the figure class was introduced into the IFBB Amanda Doherty was competing in the fitness division in the IFBB Pro ranks. Many will know Amanda's well known husband, contest promoter and gym owner Tony Doherty who I'm sure will be backing his wife 100% as she preps for her first show in 8 years!
IFBB Pro Victor Martinez has been out of lock up for a little more than 3 months and has already gained back a tremendous amount of size. I saw him this past weekend at the IFBB PBW Tampa Pro show and, by the looks of him, you’d never know he recently spent the better part of 2012 behind bars. However, with the 2012 Mr. Olympia only 7 weeks away, it still doesn't look as if Victor should be putting his physique on the line by competing in the O.
It seems with the growing popularity of the women's physique division in the IFBB pro ranks, the NPFC/IFBB amateur ranks in Australia have decided to follow suit with the addition of the new class.
In 2007, IFBB Pro Kris Dim, 39, came face to face with death when he suffered a tear in the inner wall of his aorta. This potentially fatal incident caused massive blood flow between the layers of the wall of the aorta. The aorta is the highest pressure spot in the body, so when there is a rupture, there is bound to be serious ramafications. Basically, when this rare occurrence happens, the person generally dies very quickly. Aortic dissection has a 80% mortality rate and more than half of the people die before they even get to the hospital. Kris Dim miraculously survived this medical emergency and even competed again after his recovery! Sadly, Kris’ medical troubles only began in 2007. Recently, Kris went back under the knife to repair a stent. When Kris came out of surgery, his doctors told him, “Sorry, you have a spinal cord injury, and there is a chance that you will never walk again.”

Today, Shawn “Flexatron” Rhoden announced that he will competing in the 2012 IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Weekly Championship in Tampa, Florida. For this prep he’s been working with Chris “The technician” Aceto, and Chris says that the only people that will be disappointed with how Shaun looks in Tampa are his fellow competitors. With the exception of the Arnold Classic, the IFBB PBW Championships will be the most competitive and deepest line-up of the year.
