If you could change into a superhero for a day who would you be and why? My superhero would have to be Jesus because he is perfect in every way…physically, spiritually and eternally.

 

What made you begin dedicating your lifestyle to this sport?

I was always active and started my career with my husband at the time Bernard Torre who was right out of the Marine Corp and wanted a training partner. I took to it like a magnet and loved how my body responded to weights. When you are physically, mentally and spiritually fit there is nothing you feel you can’t do. 

 

What approach do you take to dieting...carb cycle..keto?photo 3

I have always trained myself taking knowledge from books, other people, websites etc. until this past year I decided to take it up a notch and work with trainer Fred Smalls IFBB Pro. I have known Fred for years and admire his dedication to the sport. He is also very down to earth and can relate well to anyone. I felt comfortable with him. He taught me that food is good and had me eating way more than I ever would have but it was the right foods and the right amounts which really helped me. Yes we did use the carb cycling which worked for me. Anything that shocks the body brings results in my experience.

 

What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about competing? People think you don’t eat, you starve yourself, you are on steroids as soon as they see progress and the fat percentages going down! Lol It is amusing what some people say to you. It is a disciplined sport and not everyone is going to understand and that is ok.

 

What is your most embarrassing childhood memory? When my grandfather wanted me to come out and talk to the paperboy when I was 5 yrs old and I was scared and said I was sleeping, but I was really by the door with my ear pressed to it trying to listen and he caught me and laughed so hard at me…I cried being 5yrs old and hid under the sheets! Lol

 

What is the biggest lesson you have learned about YOURSELF during your contest prep? What I am willing to do and what I am not…we all have to make decisions in our life and what we can live with. My first is to honor God above all else and I know if I do that I can have peace when I sleep at night.

 

Who do you look up and admire and why? People that have been thru hell and back. People that have been through the  worst and made it through and not only made it through but shined!!!

1990 Night of Nat2013 TraceyShoots-300-2urals 1st place and overall Bodybuilding and 1st place in Couples bodybuilding

8th Ms.Exercise contest in Manhattan, NY 1991

1997 Galaxy competition in Mexico-was injured 

2001 Womens Tri-fitness competition placed top 15 in obstacle course and grace and physique round

2003 1st place NPC Delaware open collegiate class figure

2003 Bodyrock top 10 in class

2013 Tracey Greenwood Classic in Media, PA 1st place and overall in physique

2013 July 19th placed 3rd first time in NPC Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh

 

Next competition: Next show will be in April 2014 need to discuss still with coach Fred Smalls.

Who would you like to thank? I would like to thank My Lord and Savior for the blessings of strength courage and abilities to compete, my coach Fred Smalls for making me laugh when it got tough and for sharing his knowledge, my AM crew at the gym who always pushed me on or made me laugh, my friends Janelle Bowman and Susie Kane who were right by my side training with me and helping me to succeed and my parents for supporting all my crazy ideas and love of the sport.
