In your opinion, how important is motivation and confidence when aiming to accomplish a goal?
To me goals are dreams that are tangible in reach. My goals are my biggest dreams that I visualize succeeding in on a daily basis. When you can see your self succeeding in the goals you set whether long-term or short-term, you are motivated to push harder aiming to reach those goals. Confidence and motivation seem to go hand in hand with each other, but it takes time and effort to build them both. The hard work I put in to reach my goals builds my confidence, while motivating me to continuously work hard for the things that will better my life. When my confidence is strengthened, my character is improved giving me more inspiration that I am strong enough to endure the time and effort it will take me to reach my success. I write them down so that I can once again see them every day reminding me of what my daily tasks will help me accomplish in the future, and that is success. My goals or better yet dreams are the very key ingredient to my everyday and lifetime accomplishments. On the other hand, confidence and motivation help me to succeed at accomplishing those dreams.

In your eyes, what combination of hard work and natural ability is needed to reach the top?
In my eyes, hard work and natural ability is the combination needed to reach the top. Without them both one cannot see success in their future. I mean think about it; anyone has the natural ability to accomplish things in life that make him or her happy; however, that natural ability that one may have should only allow you to work harder and put inimage more effort for the higher set goals in life. Some athletes are born naturally gifted to train with ease; however some athletes have to work harder for their talents to be seen. In my eyes, both athletes work harder improving their natural ability while allowing their talents to be recognized.

What are some motivational strategies that have or currently work for you?
One of the strategies I use is creating a positive social environment. When you keep those around you such as family and friends those who uplift your spirits, it allows you to stay focused on the important task that will help you reach your goals. Another strategy used is social media. I know its crazy, but I use social media to inspire friends, family, and fans to work for their goals. When I can see that my life inspires or touches the lives of others I am motivated to push harder especially when it comes to training. Lastly, I use my training as a motivational strategy to continue to work for my accomplishments. When I’m training I get so pumped looking at my improvements, and challenging myself to higher goals, that I am eager to reach the top. You are your own motivator, and until that is recognized, one cannot succeed.

Give me some examples from your life where confidence has helped you to achieve?
The confidence I have today, has definitely improved throughout the years. I can say that competing has allowed that improvement and it continues to progress. Growing up I was always into sports, but I have always had that athletic build. I used to hide my body never wearing things that would share my physique, but through success in competing I learned to be confident and embrace my physique. With this confidence I can now train and improve my physique not caring what others would think. Another example would be getting on stage and flaunting my physique. I have been stepping on stage since a child from pageants, to dance performances, and now bodybuilding competitions. I love it and it builds my confidence. You have to be very confident to get up there with so many other girls who have physiques similar to yours. However, you have to be confident in yourself that the hard work and effort you put in to get you on that stage was enough to leave a mark on the judges.

What do you find the most challenging about competing?
Training and nutrition used to be difficult for me when I first began competing. Now, the two come with ease going into my third year of competing. Now I find the most challenging part of competing is competition day. Since competing in the NPC over the last year, I have found that I am competing with women who have been doing this for many years and I am usually fairly young when it comes to my competition. It’s challenging now for me to stay confident throughout the day of the show. I do get nervous and nervousness can hurt your confidence when you get on that stage. However, God always seems to pull it out of me the moment I step on to the stage. I become a whole new person. Another challenge is staying social. It’s hard to be social with others when you’re in your last few weeks of prep. For me, I try so hard not to get irritable so quickly with others those last few weeks of prep. Lastly, staying humble is another challenge. I have been blessed to be able to achieve such goals in such a short amount of time, and I am constantly reassuring that I stay humble through success. When your humble, more people will accept the achievements you have made and they will feel inspired through your success.

What are your top 5 key strategies for success?
1) Set goals that you can visualize succeeding in the future.
2) Plan how you will reach those goals.
3) Word hard and execute your plan and stay motivated through the entire process.
4) Keep a positive environment and stay away from all negativity.
5) Believe in yourself.

What is your favorite protein powder? Why do you like it?image(2)
I like a variety of protein products, but if I had to absolutely choose one I would choose SciTech Nutrition’s 100% whey protein. It’s so delicious in taste and there are so many flavors to choose from. My absolutely favorite flavor would be chocolate peanut butter. There is not many unwanted ingredients in the protein mix and because of that it does not mess with my stomach. Some protein powders my body tends to reject, but this is light on the stomach and I get my dose of protein at the same time.

Favorite Inspirational Quote:

In closing, who would you like to give a shout out to?
First of all to God for continuing to bless me with success. Second to my family and friends for supporting me over the past few years. Third to my coach for helping me improve my physique in order to keep succeeding in my dreams. And last but not least to my fans for constantly allowing me to touch there lives.
