2014 has been a great year for the girls in our sport in Australia with another two new comps just for the women.

With a great new sponsor The Clique, this contest had a really nice relaxed vibe. The Clique looked after all the girls backstage with tan, hair and make-up by the highly skilled Clique team.

This event was a great first show with 32 competitors representing West Australia, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria and NSW of mostly very high standard.

The stand out was the Bikini Open lineups with Michelle Richards winning the Bikini Short Class and being named “athlete of the day”. This means Michelle wins an airfare to Madrid, Spain, to compete at the Arnold Europe. Michelle will be very competitive at the Arnold and we expect great things in the future for her.

All the Bikini competitors were in great shape with special mention to the Juniors who looked fantastic.

Also must give credit to Luka Pollock who competed in the Bikini Novice. Luka lost an amazing 40 kilos to compete in her first ever competition!

The Figure lineup was very good and was of high caliber. Yvette Brown from country NSW won her division and she is one to watch as a future Pro. Last week’s winner in the Melbourne All Female, Katie Morris, won her class. And the Masters winner, Lisa Marshall, continues to set a very high standard.

In Physique, the audience was in shock to hear that the winner Michelle Cleverley from Western Australia was a 43-year-old mother of six! Yes, I said six!!

The winner of the Fitness division was Jane Hastie who did an exciting and very unusual routine using a chair as a prop to show strength and flexibility.

Overall it was a great comp with a fantastic group of competitors loving the day and all vowing to be back on stage again soon.
