In your opinion, how important is motivation and confidence whregsergregregrgresgen aiming to accomplish a goal?

I believe motivation is what initially pushes us out into the " wild blue yonder"!  EVERYONE who is driven to achieve goals is MOTIVATED by some factor whether it be admiration of someone's physique , the feeling of elation one has upon receiving recognition for a  tried and true due diligence or just knowing in your OWN heart you are here for a distinct purpose ... You hunger for MORE ... Your MOTIVATED!

When a person exudes confidence ( take note I am NOT a fan of cocky , arrogant , thou-shalt-bow-to-me peeps .. PERIOD) it reiterates this person is comfortable with the cards they are dealt in certain situations and continue to SHINE ON!  I would like to add something I feel is detrimental to accomplishing goals.... The main circuit board is your support person / persons.... You NEED THIS ... You HAVE motivation and confidence.

In your eyes, what combination of hard work and natural ability is needed to reach the top?

The top... Hmmm.. First off I feel that if I have reached the " top " then I'm settling, I'm satisfied and I am above the highest of high .. looking down.  So I like to say I'm always looking up/ahead .. I'm  "topless" I guess ( pun ~ just kidding ya'll )!  Oh yeah ... Hard work and natural ability.    Hard work wears several hats but time and effort are the lifeline to success.  Take the word natural ~ add ability ~ translation :  you have been blessed now go forth and prosper!

What are some motivational strategies that have or currently work for you?

The thoughts or feelings I have when I think about why I'm here... Have I fulfilled my destiny? Ummm.. No... I reflect on the obstacles I have encountered and CONQUERED  ( and failed ) in my life and I push forward!  I come in contact on a daily basis with people who are living breathing testimonies and examples of TRUE motivation who are overcoming situations where they have NO control as to why they have been dealt certain cards in the game of life.  THEY MOTIVATE ME ... They keep me out of the  pit of " superficial-ness "!

Give me some examples from your life where confidence has helped you to achieve?

I have several but I will highlight my epic confidence movement and follow it with yet another ( you guessed it ) epic achievement.  I like to use the acronym K.I.S.S.

( keep it simple stupid ) :) ... See below

1. Single teenage mom - confidence to overcome the stereotype .. I can do this

2. College student  - nursing school .. I can do this

3. Put competing on my " bucket list " at age 34.. I can do this

4. My first competition in 2009.. I can do this ( please see competition history:)!

5. After 18 yrs  of not being married...  I married the perfect man ( for me )... Confident in my own personal abilities to achieve ultimate companionship.

What do you findsdfgffd the most challenging about competing?

I'm going outside of the sandbox right now and proclaim that the lack of education about this sport to other athletic industries ...male OR female ... Poses the biggest and MOST challenges.

What are your top 5 key strategies for success?

1. Have a vision of your successful path

2. Make a plan and execute it

3. Be on time :  early is on-time, on-time is acceptable, late is unacceptable

4.  Always have a back up plan

5. Failing to plan is planning to fail

What is your favorite protein powder? Why do you like it?

Intek ~ Caramel latte OH SO YUMMY!  It mixes so easily with just a shaker and water but I must confess .. My sweet treat is one scoop protein powder , 1tbsp almond butter and 1/2 c non-fat plain Greek yogurt!

Favorite Inspirational Quote:

It ain't about how hard you hit.. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It's about how much you can take and keep moving forward... That's how winning is done !

~ Rocky Balboa

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to?

Chris & Cindy Caudy at Next Level Training in Memphis ~ Chris was my coach my first 3 years of competing ... I won several shows under his guidance including his phenomenal show Battle on the Bluff held at the Goldstrike Casino in Tunica MS.  This year on May 3rd I return to honor my NPC roots and perform as guest poser for

Caudy's 2014 Battle on the Bluff.

Ryan and Dawn Walters @ Conquering Giants nutrition for always showing love by being the giving and supportive friends a person needs in this industry.

Don and Betty Hollis promoters of The Southern Classic Bodybuilding Championship in Mississippi.  I competed in their novice figure in 2009... Later to find they used my photo as their following seasons promo ( and Mrs. Betty always compliments my haircut:)!

Brad Holt.. My husband , coach , training beast, chef , videographer/producer - REMIX IT ALL!  He's my COMPLETE man.... NOBODY BETTER .. FOR ME!

And more love for Gail and the Rx Girl  team for giving me the opportunity to  work with them and express myself!

WORK HARD .. STAY HUMBLE

Xo~
