In your opinion, how important is motivation and confidence when aiming to accomplish a goal?
Motivation is what gets you started. It’s the spark that ignites interest. With that said, without motivation, there would be no goal. Now to carry out the necessary actions needed to achieve that goal you absolutely have to have confidence. More specifically, self confidence in your ability to follow through with those actions. If you can’t believe in yourself, how can you expect others to?

In your eyes, what combination of hard work and natural ability is needed to reach the top?
I would say in this sport, both are important. There’s only so much you can do to work against your genetics and build, but the harder you work the closer you can get to your ultimate physique goal. In my opinion though, ‘reaching the top’ shouldn’t be the goal, reaching your ultimate potential given the genetics you have should be the goal.

What are some motivational strategies that have or currently work for you?
Always know the reason why you are starting a goal. But most importantly make sure that reason is for yourself and no one else. Doing something for you and only you is what makes a goal last. To me , it’s the worst feeling when you let yourself down so always hold yourself accountable!

What do yoeuropa1u find the most challenging about competing?
The most challenging thing about competing is realizing that what you are doing is not ordinary. The way you eat, train, think is not like the average American. So you can’t expect everyone to understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. It’s not even necessary to have to go into detail and explain. So with that said, don’t complain about it, don’t go on and on about it, because most likely people don’t care or don’t want to hear about it. Be as positive as you can about your prep and your goals so people see competing as a positive thing and not a negative thing :)

What are your top 5 key strategies for success?
1. Have a plan
2. Be positive
3. Be consistenteuropa2
4. Be strong enough to pick yourself back up
5. Own it. Whether its positive or negative. Own your decisions and outcomes.

What is your favorite supplement? Why do you like it?
I love the BCAA Chewies from Betancourt Nutrition. One full scoop is like having a bunch of candy. I look forward to it after every workout! I feel like I’m a little kid again eating Smarties, it’s a nice treat :)

Favorite Inspirational Quote:
‘If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want will be the sacrifice’

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to?
My close friends, they know who they are, who have been so supportive and understanding throughout my various preps. I don’t have many friends that compete so this is a totally different world to them so I thank them for being there for me and being my biggest cheerleaders. Also to Team AZ Pro and my coach Damian for being a huge support and helped me get back on stage this year :)
