Clients would hope all talents are. Should be standard.

If clients had a nickel for every time they read or heard this one.

Now consider the following response...SO WHAT?

I am not trying to devalue the above statements. At times they all could probably be worth noting. However, what I am saying is, that they are not enough. When talking and pitching to clients, go the extra step to illustrate to them what your "so what" factor is. Why should clients focus on you over all the others applying or pitching? What do you bring to the table that no one else does?

Ask yourself; could someone else say the same thing? Focus on differentiating yourself. Why does it matter to the client? How does it help them achieve their goals?

Yes this all takes time and effort to strategize these points. It should. But being able to display to a client your "so what" factor can help you in your efforts to separate yourself from your competitors.
