The fourth in the Dugdale series, "Numero 202" presents a candid look at the symmetrical bodybuilder's preparations for the Under-202 Olympia. With equal parts information and inspiration, this DVD shares a well-told story enhanced by high production quality and a likeable cast of heroes.
The primary supporting roles are those of his family, particularly his beautiful wife Christine. I like to see elite level lifters that can balance a normal life with their pursuit of their sport. While the concept of a hardcore musclehead living out his their car, scraping by to make it, may seem hardcore... if done for a number of years, it has a sad delusional quality. Dugdale has a real non-fitness career and puts family first and they all work together to help him achieve his best. It is obvious that he is doing things for the betterment of his wife and kids, rather than making his family do without so that he can chase personal glory.

There are certainly enough protein supplements on the market. So much so that the question that begs to be asked is, do we really need another one? Well, I think we do, for a couple of reasons. First, variety. While I'm sure someone will insist they have used the same protein supplement for the last 20 years, most of us switch around. I think one of the primary reasons for this among the top row of proven protein supplements is taste. Flavor systems vary to an incredible degree. Chocolate, for example, would seem like a pretty standard flavor, but, in reality, I've never tasted two brands of chocolate protein powder that tasted the same. I have, however, discovered some versions of chocolate that were absolutely delicious as well as some that were positively repellent.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) has become a staple in post cycle steroid therapy. Unfortunately, lately, HCG has become almost impossible for most people to get. FDA and DEA crackdowns have many people scared shitless to order from overseas pharmacies (even if they did carry HCG). Most domestic underground labs don't carry HCG and the ones that do charge an arm and a leg for it. This has left a huge hole in steroid cycles and post cycle therapy. And has left many in our community scrambling like crazy to get it.

For his very high profile role as the mastermind of the greatest sports doping scandal in history, Victor Conte is a very unassuming man. He's more apt to call me up and ask what my son is going to be for Halloween than anything earth shattering. Yet, he does frequently call about things of varying magnitude. Whether they be the latest foibles of the federal agents that tracked him since the famous BALCO bust of 2003, or the latest scandals in Track and Field, or the deposition of certain performance-enhancing criminals, whenever the caller ID says "Victor Conte" I know I'm in for the day's most interesting call

I've tried just about every "energy" supplement (stimulant) on the market (and many "off" the market) and it's rare that I come across one worth mentioning. It's actually kind of sad how excited I get when I have something new to try; so when I got my bottle of LG Sciences "E-911," I was a giddy pill-popping overgrown kid. To continue John Romano's theme from last week (SUPPLEMENT CORNER: 9-30-09), we know LG Sciences makes products that work because they're always getting yanked off the market. What better than a stimulant from a company that loves to push the envelope?

When you want to determine if a supplement or drug is effective you can push all the scientific literature aside. The best and most assured means of determining a substance's efficacy is to watch what the FDA does with it.

Many of you will recognize the name GAT since the infamous Derek Anthony is their spokesperson. It's time to give them their due credit as a top supplement company with a full line of products. Charles Moser has been at the helm for a decade, recently changing the name of his company from German American Technologies to the snappier GAT.

Obesity in our society, and the escalating health problems associated with it, are a constant topic on Heavy Muscle Radio, SuperHuman Radio, and throughout the forums of Rxmuscle. Eating disorders may be common in the bodybuilding world, but most of our body-identity issues are subtle compared to what is seen on any walk through your local Wal-Mart. One excuse has long been that restaurant chains, notably fast-food vendors, don't display nutritional data for their customers. Well, that lame-duck argument is disappearing, as a new national law is in the works that will require restaurant chains with at least 20 locations to post calorie counts on their menus. Included are the following stipulations:
