I just downed a muscle milk RTD and before I tossed the empty box, I looked at the ingredients and noticed the source of the carbs is Fructose. Should I be avoiding this product at all times?

DP:  I prefer a higher quality meal replacement.  For a quick meal I mix 1 scoop of waxy maize, 2 scoops of whey isolate, and 1tbsp of Macadamia Nut oil.

Dave, I have kids in my family (cousins ) who are Obese. We're Hillbillys. I won't let my kids get that way as I've grown up FAT. My question is, "Is the keto diet safe for kids"......They aren't diabetic yet

DP:   The keto diet is very safe for kids.......and extremely healthy; especially for obese children.  Remember, the final number of fat cells that a person produces is determined during the childhood years of 9-12 years old.  If you're overweight during this time period, you'll always struggle with your weight later in life.  Teach these kids how to eat healthy and get that extra bodyfat off their bodies.

What type of places can i get natural peanut butter from, all the supermarkets have the same peanut butter, with sugar cane in it, would a place like GNC have it.

DP:  You are not looking hard enough. Every supermarket I have been in has at least one brand.  Look for the organic section. Smuckers makes a great tasting version.  Worst case scenario, go to a health food store that grinds up their own peanuts.

What kind of protocol would you suggest for a male interested in "test only" cycle (i respond great on test and in opposition to previous cycles want to hit just test) interested in improving/lowering bodyfat ,increasing lbm ?

I think about longer cycle with enanthate ,but what bothers me most ,and is a reason of this post,is that i wanted to ask how would U use Femara/ari in it to prevent bloating and help fighting with hard to burn fat

I am a 107 kilos guy/178 cm height .

DP:  Take .5mg of Arimidex or 2.5mg Femara every other day to reduce the estrogenic sides of test.

I was scheduled to start your Keto Diet this past week, however, I finally got the call for a police training program, which entails a lot of running. Should I stick with your mass gaining version of the diet, or would is there a better idea out there? If this question cannot be answered because it needs to be tailored the individual, I understand completely.

DP: You are going to need some carbs to fuel the high intensity running.  Take the basic plan of my keto diet and add some carbs to 3 meals and reduce the fats slightly.

I have a question though regarding your offseason protocol. I read in an older article saying that you learned never to combine fats with carbs as this will make your body store fat. I've also read on your Q&A thread that was at MD that you don't necessarily believe that to be true. I've always believed that eating carbs with fats will cause an insulin response and will drive that fat into storage.

Is there any particular reason why you changed your mind rergarding this? If someone didn't want to go into a full offseaon mode, but rather a lean gainer type diet, would the mixing of fat and carbs in every meal still be the way to go?

DP: This is taken out of context a bit. If you consume a moderate amount of carbs with protein and fat, you'll use the carbs for energy or for glycogen storage.  If, however, you combine high carbs with protein and fat, there's a much greater chance of storing the carbs as fat.  Remember, insulin really has little direct effect on dietary fat.....indirectly, if you have too much carbs around, you can store the carbs and fat and the fat as fat.

Do you recommend your diet for someone with high cholesterol? I am a regular joe, 5-9, 250 20% BF, 25 yrs old, with high cholesterol (280)...I tried looking info on this matter online and I could find anything.....thanks for your help and time...

DP:  Yes, because sugar raises cholesterol way more than eating cholesterol does.  Sugar causes the body to synthesize excessive amount of cholesterol.

Many of my friends whom are natural bodybuilders say that your diet should not be used without taking any type of anabolic period. From what i have seen in you previous challenges back at MD none of those people would be in a smart position to start using anabolics. So i would just like a confirmation on this is all,

DP: I have worked with tons of successful natural bodybuilders. They thrive on my diet because they're consuming the essential fats necessary to optimize their natural hormone production.

DP: This will give you decent gains.

dave, can omegalyze and fiberlyze be taken together?

DP:  I suggest taking them with different meals.

1. In a booklet Dr. Blau sent out he says to stop all supplements, even PROTEIN prior to surgery... I'll be traveling and hoping to maintain my diet, and protein powder is just so convenient when traveling.. Is there reason for stopping the protein?? How far out from surgery should I stop omegalyze and creatine supps?? When can I start back up again with them??

DP:  Stop all the supplements at 2 weeks out from the surgery.  Trust me, I bled like a pig (I was his first bber......lucky me!).   Whey protein isolate with nothing else added to it (nothing!!!) is fine.

2. Tanning, he says you need to wait 12 months after surgery... Is it really necessary to wait that long before getting sun exposure?? I usually tan 1-2 times per week...

DP:  I waited 2 weeks!  You'll be fine!

I really don't want to do any wrong before/after this, so wanted to hear your thoughts since I know you/John got the procedure done.

Dave, have you heard of cynoplus? It's 30 mcg of T3 and 120 mcg of T4. Can this be used the same as just the T3. I already know your T3 protocal from using your services in the past and I can't get a hold of just(t3) cynomel anymore. Thanks...

DP:  Treat it like it only contains T3.  The T4 will do nothing!

Dave i have noticed that when i inject any oil based anabolic in my quads prior to bedtime i feel A LOT more soreness the next day compared to if i shoot it earlier on during the day where the muscle gets a decent amount of movement for the rest of the day. Is this just my imagination or could it actually be happening that when the oil sits post shot it causes more inflammation?

Because i NEVER get the same type of soreness if i shoot my delts or glutes (the same gear with the same amount of BA in it). So is it a good idea to shoot into a muscle group and then lightly massage and work it to reduce the crippling soreness that might occur the next day? Have to ask cause right now i cant even keep my leg bent long enough to drive properly without shaking in pain.

DP:  Working out the muscle you injected will push the oil around and reduce the soreness.  2 Tylenol will help the pain as well.  I don't recommend injecting your quads - the muscle is too dense.  You're asking for trouble. Rotate your delts, glutes, and lats.

Hey Dave I have been asking a couple people on here about what they think of oral Winnys. I was wondering what are your thoughts on these little gems and how to use them for best overall results? I am gonna be stacking these with test for the last 5 weeks of my cycle. My friend is on them and he loves em.
DP:  50mg per day for the last 6-8 weeks before a show is ideal for ORAL WINSTROL

Im 23 years old girl.

Ive already tried PH such as tren xtreme, hdrol by cel, 11oxo by ergopharm.

 

My next choice would be primobolan 25-75mg for woman. I want to get tone my muscles, definition and get up my strength. Is it a good choice?

 

Can i stack primobolan with anavar or winny? Which is the best choice? or with another choice?

 

My diets are high protein,low carbs,low fat,good fat. Eat 6 times/day. Plenty of water. Sleep min 8hours/day. Go to gym 3-4times/week. Lifting and cardio.

DP: Stay away from the Pro Hormones/Steroids - we have no idea what they will do in women and most are too strong and will have negative side effects.

Try 10mg of Anavar with 25 mg of primo for good results with little chance of sides.

Dave quick question. Im following your diet to the letter and having really good results so thnks. Do you recommend using ephedrine on this diet or not and if not is their a particular reason?

DP; I don't ever recommend stimulants. They raise cortisol and slow your fat loss in the long run.  Try taking non-simulant-based fat burners such as my SPECIES daytime fat burner, LIPOLYZE.

When cycling is tapering down no longer necessary? I have read that tapering was old school and just drags out the cleaning up period while just getting gradually lower doses. True or not?

DP: You don't need to taper your anabolics; just start a proper PCT (my protocol is posted earlier in the thread).  However, you should taper clen and T3.

Dave Steve Blechman made some great points about the intake of fats blocking prostaglandin production (certain fats -not all fats)... now i know your familiar with how powerful prostaglandins are in terms of both protein synthesis and lipolysis.... now tell me why you dont think that eliminating all intake of anti inflamatory fats isnt a good idea for building muscle ?

 

DP:  It's all about balance!  Every chicken breast you eat has tons of the pro-inflammatory fat, ARACHIDONIC ACI, in it.........so much that you wouldn't believe it.   Adding a nice balance of anti-inflammatory fats like fish oil and evening primrose oil only adds to the muscle-building and repair process since you need these anti-inflammatory essential fats to repair muscle cell membranes and make certain healthy prostaglandins!

What do you think of incorporating Gaspari Mitotropin for my last month of dieting?

DP:  It looks like a decent product. I like the concept behind it but you all know I am not a stimulant fan.  I wish GASPARI had left the caffeine out of this particular formula.  It would have made it unique.

Dave im in the 6th month of using your offseason diet..I plan on stepping back onstage may of 2010 so i still have about a year...my question is i want to lean out a little bit for the summer time should i do a mini 6-8 week keto diet, or should i just lower my carbs and just up the cardio a bit??..im currently 200 lbs and eating around 300-350 grams of cho a day and doing cardio 3 x a week..in august i plan on pushing the calories back up until december at which point i will start my contest diet using your dieting principles but as far as the summer what would you suggest i do?

DP:  The best way to make gains is consistency, but if you want to lean out for the summer go right into my diet for a brief period until you get the results you're looking for.

For one of my meals i have a small baby chicken, it must be around 50-60g of protein, do you know roughly how much it has, 1 baby chicken.

someone in my gym said its too much and is much more than 60g, i can eat it with no issues of overeating.

Would there be any difference taking Ditide Vs Diazide the night b4 a show "assuming" the dosages are the same for both pills, or will I recieve the same results?

 

What is the difference between the Benzthiazide and Hydrochlorothiazide in both versions?

DP:  DYAZIDE contains hydrochlorothiazide and triampterene............. DITIDE contains benzthiazide and triampterene........... essentially they both work exactly the same...........with the same results!

DP:  It might be fun, but the Arnold is a chance for RxMuscle to look forward and leave the past behind.  However, don't rule it out!

Dave, what would you say is the best exercise for improving posture? Any tips?

DP:  ab exercises and hyperextensions (for lower back).  If you have a strong ab/lower back region, it creates a muscular belt around your body that helps keep your body upright.

dave, i've scheduled a doc visit with a sports doc. my friend goes to her for prolo-therapy (dextrose injected into joints/elbows/shoulders). i don't know much about this. Do you have any experience with this therapy?
DP:  Prolo-therapy is essentially comprised of injecting dextrose (sugar) into a joint to stimulate inflammation and supposedly healing.  From what I hear, it's more effective for tendon and ligament injuries and less helpful for joint issues (which don't need any more inflammation).

DP: Don't be greedy; it takes hours to answer all of these questions.  Soon I will have a link on the front page of RxMuscle that will lead to my condensed answers.

Hey Dave I have been on you diet for 6 weeks or so and every friday I take the cheat meal (its usually 140 carbs of white rice and fish) I have a serious headache it fells like my head has a big time pulse, is this common or am I doing something wrong?

DP:  It sounds like your blood sugar crashes after the carb surge.  Try to lessen your carbs and add some good fats to slow digestion.

Dave? In reference to the cheat meal. You said that one of the reasons for having a cheat meal at the end of the day is so that you don't miss meals the rest of the day because you're too full.

When I have my cheat meal I just eat all the clean carbs I can until I'm full. I don't stuff myself because I hate that "stuffed" sensation afterwards. However, when I read other people's refeed meals it has a ton of food that they eat within that hour until they are about to burst.

So during a cheat meal you're suppose to stuff yourself with as much food as you can? Or is that just being greedy?

DP:  Stuffing yourself is NOT the right way to do it.  The cheat meal is a chance to satisfy your cravings and get in some extra calories to stimulate production of your active thyroid hormone (T3).  Be moderate.

Hey Dave, I am currently living in China and have limited access to the foods you recommend for your diet. Proteins are not a problem, but the fats are a pain in the ass. The oils here are...Peanut, fish, sunflower, and Olive oil(Expensive as hell). Besides the Olive oil, are any of the others ok?. Also, I have no access to any all-natural peanut butter or almond butter and anything of that sort. I can however get peanuts, almonds, cashews and walnuts, I know peanuts and almonds are ok, but what about the cashews and walnuts? Oh, and there is no omega 3 eggs here, so I eat 5yolks and 4whites for my first meal, thats ok right?.....Sorry about the long questons.

DP:  You have to make do with what you have. It sounds like you are doing your best.  Almonds, cashews, and walnuts are preferred and I would rank peanuts as last.  A quality fish oil works but tastes awful, I would save up and try to get the extra virgin olive oil.  If you can't get omega 3 eggs add 2-3 fish oil capsules to your first meal.

Just out of curiosity if a food was deep fried in macadamia oil, is it still bad for you? Just wondering because it is one of the few oils that does not convert easily under high heat. If it is how bad is it, and why? Thank You

DP:  I've postulated that question myself.  Assuming the oil would remain stable, it should be healthy; however, the fat content might be too great since the food will absorb all that oil.

If I want to bring up my calves how often can I train them without overtraining them? Is 3 or 4 times a week too much?

DP: Twice at most; and hit them with 2 different exercises-standing and seated calves.  Personally, I like to do 1 set of seated and 1 set of standing calves (15 reps with heavy weight)

Dave, if I remember correctly from your other Q & A, you like tren acetate. Would you stack this with anything else and what dosage?

DP:  250mg of test and 50mg of tren every other day is a great cycle.
