It's a New Year. . . Time to Get Hardcore!

Okay...it's time to confess...how many of you out there have watched movies like Rocky 1V and visualized yourself training out in the wild with only the most basic equipment possible.  What about the hardcore prison movie where inmates are working out in the yard . . . ever imagine that was you?

PerfectPrisonHardcore ‘boot camp' style training definitely appeals to the ‘macho gene'.  However, let's be totally honest here, no one wants to put themselves out in the wilderness or into a maximum security prison to experience bare bones training!

What about this: Have you ever browsed through the pages of a muscle magazine and been overwhelmed by not only the multitude of supplements out there but also the cost involved in buying them? Even the food bills incurred from following some of the ‘must do' diets are enough to make your wallet grow legs and run for the hills!

I was recently clearing out my cupboards in preparation for my move to a new apartment when I chanced upon our very own Dave Palumbo's book ‘Perfect Prison Physique'.  It was actually like one of those ‘movie moments'. Some switch was turned on in my mind and I thought, "My god...this is the perfect answer for those seeking a hardcore, no frills, workout while on a limited budget!"

Let's just say that if you haven't already placed this book in your library of required reading, then it's about time you did!  Honestly, this is great material for the hardcore lifter, on a budget, who's looking for just the bare-bones facts without having to wade through a mountain of pages. Who really has the time to read a 400 page book in this day and age? Also, for people like me with the attention span of your average fruit fly, this book is the answer to my prayers!

Lets' break it down...

Perfect Prison Physique has chapters on Nutrition (the subject everyone wants Dave's opinion on!), Cardio, Power, Mass and Cutting cycles and a whole section dedicated to disposing of myths and answering often-asked questions. There's also a basic look at contest prep.

You will find a stack of pics demonstrating the various exercises listed and sample workouts using the very basics in terms of equipment. Another refreshing part is that the diets listed in this book contain simple and cheap foods that are well within the average budget and recipes that don't demand Cordon Bleu training skills (which is a huge sigh of relief for me since I'm a serious danger in the kitchen and could, actually, turn Jay Cutler anorexic).

All in all I love the simplicity of this book and the hardcore feeling it emits from every page. This book is a total inspiration tool for the year ahead.  It really grabs the mind and challenges the imagination.  Read this with a positive mindset and you'll be surprised at the amazing results you'll get. Then, when you're ready to take it to the next level, you can join the legion of bodybuilders who have hired Dave as their coach.
