Pycnogenol Reduces Jet Lajet-lag-2g

A study recently published in the journal Minerva Cardioangiologica shows that Pycnogenol has the ability to reduce jet lag by nearly 50 percent. The study conducted at the University in Pescara, Italy administered 133 participants 50mg of oral Pycnogenol three times daily for seven days. The results of the study were able to show that participants who received supplemental Pycnogenol had improved blood circulation, reduced fatigue, and improvements in short-term memory alterations by up to 61% over the control group. Frequent flyers looking to reduce the time it takes to recover from jet lag may benefit by using supplemental Pycnogenol beginning a week prior to their flight.

Scientists Advance Understanding of Brown Adipose Tissue

A recent report detailed new scientific fifat-burnerndings regarding the location, genetic expression, and function of brown adipose tissue (BAT). Known as the fat burning fat, brown adipose tissue burns fat to produce heat when the body is cold and also plays a role in energy metabolism.  Researchers obtained samples of human BAT tissue and found that "BAT is most abundant in the deep locations of the neck, close to the sympathetic chain and the carotid arteries, where it likely helps to warm blood and raise body temperature. Now that we know where brown fat is, we can easily collect more cells for further study," says Aaron M. Cypess, M.D., Ph.D., senior author and Assistant Investigator in the Section of Integrative Physiology and Metabolism and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Researchers hope to find practical ways to stimulate BAT in people which could lead to decreased insulin resistance and improve diabetes.

High Fiber Diet Protects You from Stroke

Dietary fiber can help reduces some risk factors associated with stroke such as hypertension and high LDL cholesterol. A recent study conducted by the University of Leeds School of Food Science & Nutrition found that forspecies-nutrition-fiberlyze-1 every seven grams of dietary fiber consumed daily, the risk of stroke decreased by 7 percent. The meta-analysis gathered and analyzed data collected from eight studies that occurred from 1990-2012. Stroke is estimated to kill approximately 137,000 Americans each year and often leaves survivors permanently disabled. By consuming a minimum of 25 grams of dietary fiber each day, or taking fiber supplements that contain soluble and insoluble fiber such as Fiberlyze, you can significantly decrease your risk of stroke.

Vitamin E May Alleviate Symptoms of Liver Disease

Researchers at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine discovered vitamin E can alleviate symptoms of liver disease brought on by obesity. When testing the effects of vitamin E on nonalcoholic steatohepVitamin Eatitis (NASH), a common complication of obesity that occurs because of fat accumulation, researchers found vitamin E had the ability to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the liver. Vitamin E is a readily available, low cost supplement that has been shown to improve LDL cholesterol, enhance glucose metabolism, speed the healing of wounds when applied topically, and even improve short-term memory in the elderly. Adding vitamin E to your daily supplement regimen offers an effective, low cost means of improving your health.
